Characters: Colonies are hemispherical or flattened. Corallites are immersed and sometimes crowded, with small rounded openings surrounded by feathery spinules giving the colony a spiny appearance. Coenosteum papillae are fine. Colour: Cream, grey or brown. Similar species: Astreopora randalli. See
