Characters: Colonies are branching, sometimes with an encrusting base. Corallites are shallow giving branches a smooth surface. Colour: Usually cream, yellow, blue or green. Similar species: See Porites attenuata and P. compressa. Porites cylindrica is readily confused with the astrocoeniid Palauast
