I have a slow leak in my 72gal, glass, bowfront (brand new by the way). I just set up yesterday and was really caught off gaurd by slight seepage at the front base of my tank. To make things confusing it's coming out at the not from underneath the tank but from the upper lip of the plastic gaurd. I filled it the day before to test for leaks and it didn't, so I hope it's nothing I did. I didn't put 1/4 inch styrofoam under the tank, which could be the cause of the leak.
I know the "proper way" to fix a leak if to emply the tank, cut away the old seal, and apply a new silicone seal, and let if cure for 2 days.
Do I really need to spend all to day undoing what I did all yesterday, or is there an alternative method that does not require me resetting the tank? I do have quite a lot of livestock and corals, which all survived but are still stressed from yesterday.
Any advice would be much apreciated.
Thank you all.
