  • I guess I should up date my VM. I have missed alot, during the nice months I work ALOT, with little free time.

I am sorry to say, the below system is no longer. Last winter I upgraded to a larger, more updated system. I found a used(dumb) acrylic 70gal, installed a 55gal sump, and used the below system as my fuge. It has an awesome 8in DSB! That was the worst thing I have EVER had to move!!!! Unbeleivable how much 18x18x8 of wet sand weighs, especially when your help lets go and you hold it all on your leg. Sorry.
Well, the A-tank started to leak near the top, it wasn't bonded but glued? So I ordered a NEW tank, 90gal with OF built in, no more HOB OF box. Fixed the A-tank and it is now the sump.
I will try to get some pics on.
Now, I am working on another project. It is something I dreamed up, been thinking about it for over a year. Working on the detals in my head. Finally in the works, had a few snags.
Then I got ride of the fish I had, and the large LTA. I only have soft & LPS corals, some duster worms, 2-em. crabs, and the kids just got a Bang. Cardinal fish.

So far, So good! knock on wood.

So, I changed they way things were done, mixing my own water(Reef Crystals & distilled water), pre mixing water a week a head of time, got better equipment, and stopped all the stupid Dosing and feeding those stupid liquid foods, and increased my system water quantity(fuge and sump). Now my system seems to be pretty good. Pods city, snails, coraline, crystal clear water, wow it wasn't that hard if it is done right the first time!!!!!!!!!

So, after I got my system running nice, he gathered up my fish ( afew at a time, as he could catch them). And I returned them home. Everyone seemed happy, but I always had some stray nitrates I just couldn't get ride of. But I think I know what that was, my test bottles were low, and I think the wife didn't shake them enough and I had a concitrated amount of test solution. Cause when I got a new set, the levels were perfict?! I've had to move the rock work a few times, due to flow issues, fixed.
Then it was too much for the wife!!! She couldn't do it!!!!! WHAT!!!!!! I was so mad. She literally walked away, I had no part except $$$$ up to this point. I only knew how to feed fish, but not what how much, how many times???? I was mad!!!! So, INTERNET CRASH COURSE, the worst kind. I probably found just as much BAD info as good, which does not help at all. So after alot of time spent reading, talking to who ever would listen, and lots of frustration. It got to a point that I was rehoming the remaining animals, I couldn't let them suffer anymore. I actually found someone who was nice enough to take my fish and hold them for me, to let me get my tank straight. I was amazed that someone would be willing to help me out like that, and come to find out the same guy just opened up a LFS(needed), but not the best yet, just needs time. In return I have been helping him when he needs help, he wants me to set up a couple displays for him.
I asked, do you know what you are in for? "Yes, I've been reaserching it online!"...(ME)???? Ok, I said, if you think you can handle it, cause I work alot (well, when there isn't 4feet of snow). Then she said she found one for sale, used 45gal, setup. I thought about what they wanted for it, and it wasn't worth tearing down, moving, and dealing with someone elses problems. So, my GREAT idea was go to PET*O, YEAH GREAT IDEA! They saw me coming. Cause at that point I knew nothing about salt water, but the wife was suppost have. So we went home with a 40gal tank and stand, 2bags of L.sand, about 10lbs LR@ about $9.99lbs, 8-boxes of ocean water@$13ea., a 18in 18w T-8 with a 420actinic bulb. THATS ALL WE NEEDED!!!!! You all can guess what happened, being that they said we can add fish in a week!!!!! I felt sooo bad for the poor animals that had to suffer do to my ignorance!

Well I've noticed some people coming to "check" me out? So I figured I might put something about myself.

I have always kept fresh water tanks, my last was a huge 150gal half&half. Turtles, newts, fish, frogs, tree frogs, I even had 2-18in RB Pacu. Alawys wanted a Salt water marine tank, they are soo beautyful! But everyone always said it was expensive and very hard. So I figured I would wait, then one day the wife said she wanted a salt water fish tank.
