    MrGone's Picotope

I still haven't gotten around to contacting the heater manufacture, I'll try to do it this week. Barrier had their customer appreciation sale today and I picked up a purple maxima clam. Sorry for the lower quality pic, I just used my phone. I have a few larger clams in my big tank but I'm...

I believe so. Thank you for the heads up! I had noticed they are no longer sold.

    MrGone's Picotope

Thank you! I tinkered around tonight with mounting the LED fixture I made and I really like the coloration but I am concerned with the SPS colorshifting in the long term which I have experience with the lighting setup I made for my Dads tank. After some more research and talking with Brie at...

    MrGone's Picotope

Thank you! The pico itself is 3 gallons and there is probably about 8oz of water in each powerfilter

    MrGone's Picotope

Thank you! Nice, a friend of mine has a freshwater pico and she has some kind of shrimp but they don't look as cool as cherry shrimp. I can't wait to see pics :)

Photos of in stock stuff 5-3

Thanks Cy! I'll stop by tomorrow and check them out and ask more about stocking them. I have one large one in my tank now and haven't researched what would happen if I added another but have wanted to for a while. -Shawn (my Dad signed up his own account a while back but isn't on much, sorry...

    MrGone's Picotope

I've had it packed away for a couple years now and couldn't resist so I set it up again. I am currently running stock filtration (thought about doing the Aquaclear 70 and modding it but I'd have to run it off the side or pull the book case/shelf the pico is on about 6-8" off the wall and I'd...

    MrGone's fish tank room

It's been over a year since I updated, the system has been running great and here is an underwater video from about 6 months ago Unfortunately my Dad sold his house so we are in the process of taking down the system, which is a ton of work and a little bit heartbreaking. Fortunately we have...

Post Your Underwater Vids of Tanks, Tank Diving 101

Sorry for the delayed reply, I haven't been very active lately. I can't find one uploaded from my GoPro online, but here is one from my ContourHD, since it has a flat lens it has less distortion. I'd love to get an underwater housing for my DSLR but have other priorities at the moment. I think...

Jason built a sump for me as well and handled a couple other projects, I highly recommend him.

    Are Cinder blocks reef safe?

I'm reaquascaping a deep tank and was thinking about buying some of the narrow version of the cinder block I posted above to make the base rock. I was wondering if you guys think they are reef safe? My Dad is wondering if the lime in the concrete will be ok?

    New Water Testing Policy

I feel it is reasonable, especially when you factor in the time it takes and the quality of the kits they use. It was a nice service they offered and it is a shame it was taken advantage of. I don't even think $1/test covers the cost of the high resolution phosphate test. The every day price of...

    Bubbles on the substrate

Thank you for the replies, that is good to know. I run two BRS canisters full of GFO. I kind of suspected that the algae is consuming phosphates because the water tests registered 0 using the Elos high resolution phosphate kit but when I went to replace the GFO last week it was a complete brick...

    Bubbles on the substrate

I have two 125g tanks on a shared sump and I noticed on one tank with the Tropic Eden Aragasnow sugar size substrate there are "air" bubbles on the surface of the substrate but in the second 125g with CaribSea OceanDirect Original Grade this does not happen. Both tanks have identical lighting...

akunochi very nice FD, those are one of my favorite cars! I'm a huge fan of pushrod V8's as much as the S65B40 but I cringe at the LSx swapped FD's, I love the wankels. They are such a unique design with so much personality.
