Hello, I setup a 55 gallon aquarium about a month ago.. I added two condylactus anems and everything died over night except a yellow-tail damsel and snails. Everything tested positive at 0 ppm.. nitrates were around 20 ppm. Now I'm setting up a 125 gallon tank and I was interested in have 5...

    Sponges?

How hard are sponges to keep? would they thrive in an established nano tank (6.6 gallon)? How often, and what do they need fed (I got marine snow on me)? Do they requir any lighting at all or no? I was thinking about designing a nano harlequin shrimp tank, and I didn't want water flow for their...

    Harlequin shrimp compatibility?

I didn't want a mini-reef and huge investment (other than harlys). I was thinking about a sponge invert tank with rubble. I don't want any anemones but I was thinking.. 2 Anemone crabs, 1 pom pom crab, pair of harlys, 2 bumblebee shrimp, and 5 sexy shrimp.. Would all those mix, I have big...

    Harlequin shrimp compatibility?

What could I put in the 6.6 with them? Sexy shrimp and bumblebee shrimp are pretty and cool looking but they are not something that going to be fun or exciting mainly due to size like the harlys, plus wouldn't a bumble bee fight for the starfish as well?

    Harlequin shrimp compatibility?

Would a pair of harlequin shrimp be compatibile with the following animals in a 125 (and aware me if those animals aren't compatible with each other either) I don't have most of the animals on me, nor do I have the 125 set up yet. So this is just what I was planning to put in the 125 soft coral...

    Harlequin shrimp and coldwater/coastal starfish

Oh don't worry, the only fish I got from petco were: sally lightfoot crab (they had him in a tank with a niger trigger in a 5 gallon...), 2 scooter blennies (the first one I asked what he's eating and they said pellets... so I recused him and later on another one), and a sailfin tang. I...

    Harlequin shrimp and coldwater/coastal starfish

I know its fun and rewarding! I got rid of the 2 gallon for the difficultly purposes. I'm setting up a 125 gallon so believe me quiting isn't in my mind at all! I've just went through trial and error soo many times.. and the deaths of all my harlequins are the most un-solved (except the mass...

    Harlequin shrimp and coldwater/coastal starfish

Sadly all the systems used housing harlequins where taken down... a few days ago all my fish were dropping and breathing heavy so I took them out and put them in my mantis tank (I remove him first don't worry..). my first harlequin got sucked into the filter my 2 gallon, that one lived 3 days on...

    Harlequin shrimp and coldwater/coastal starfish

How long have you guys been feeding them frozen? I tried giving my pairs frozen linkias once a week (my lfs sold them) and all my harlequin got sucked into filters, powerhead intakes, and one was blown around by a powerhead, then I found it dead in the corner. Can they handle that much water...
