It's been a while since I posted anything new about my nano and I just wanted to point out that just because I got a new tank I have not forgotten my little one, here are a few pictures: overall picture, notice the sand addition:D My tiny zoo colony "The Green Thing" Without the flash...

    I am finally going BIG!!

I don't like the green of the stand so after I get the tank clean I am moving the stand into my garage and going crazy with the sander. When I am done it will be a lighter oak color. My next part of this project is the sump, I don't like the sump design so I am rethinking that but I want to ask...

    I am finally going BIG!!

I think I have the lighting figured out, I just need to decide which reflector I want. I will be cutting out the center brace and welding on two smaller ones so I can have three lights. Next I need to figure out flow but first, I got some pictures to show: This is the tank laying on its back so...

    new tank setup HELP?

A very popular skimmer is the Aqua C Remora, check it out. As for fish, clowns are very popular in small tanks, I have a 10 gallon with two percula's that are doing great. Some small goby's work as well just do lots of research on the fish you want before you buy one, I recently found out that...

So should I get the larger reflectors or the small ones? The large ones will overlap the acrylic by about 1" front and back, the small ones will fit inside the holes and I can mount the bulbs as much as 12" off the water.

    I am finally going BIG!!

What is the difference between the Lumenarc III and the A3 mini reflectors other than size? Will the III work enough better that I would want them over the smaller ones?

    I am finally going BIG!!

It's all good man, I love a little diy work so I have no problem moding this tank to make it what I want, this whole thing is a dream come true so I don't mind spending a little more time with it. The whole tank has a frame that is about 4" wide around the top, do I even need a center brace?

    I am finally going BIG!!

This is a used tank so I don't think I have a warranty, what is 40? Sorry for my ignorance, what is crazing?

    I am finally going BIG!!

By the way I am planning on using 250 watt halides with lumenarc reflectors.

    I am finally going BIG!!

I really need to get some pictures of the tank so I can describe my next question but how would I do that? I wouldn't have a problem cutting out the existing center brace but how would I know how wide to make the other two braces? could I weld them in place on top of the piece that is on top of...

    I am finally going BIG!!

Depending on the reflector I choose I think I can mount the bulb as much as 12" above the acrylic and I will have fans blowing accross the surface. Thanks though I didn't think of checking with the mfg, I will have to look into that one.

    I am finally going BIG!!

I am worried about the light and heat ageing the acrylic and weakening it, what do you think?
