    I just ordered magnets to try and make some mag rocks for the back of my tank. I have half a bag of carib sea that I will use for sand... and for the salt, just use aquarium salt or rock?

    You might talk to Eric at the Sharkreef. I know that he used to work closely with IAP. The last time I talked to him about them, he said that they were still working on tanks and equip... just not as much.

    New to reefing with a couple questions

    I have a 55g with a Mag 350 (canister) and the Tetra overflow filter that came with the tank. I have been running this for the last 4 yrs. I have crushed coral substrate about 50 lbs of rock. 6 fish, snails, hermits, lots of zoas, frogspawn, Monti cap, favia and a devils hand leather.

    if you have a needle and syringe, use boiling water (ro/di) of course. I have heard that works quite well

    # 5 looks like the smaller ones are "depths of hell", and the other looks like a Golden sun burst", 10 & 11 - the yellow/orange ones I would say are "whammin' watermelons"

    From my knowledge of running a 6000 gpd RO unit, The Carbon filter has to be used to remove the chlorine. Chlorine will actually break down the ro membrane. So as long as you have a carbon prefilter you should be good.
