    OT - New guitar day

This guitar has EMG 81/60 in it and the other black Explorer that I just finished up has 81/85. I'll post pictures of the black on in just a little bit. All of my electrics have either EMG 81/85 or 81/60 pickups in them, I just love the high output from them. Warmoth makes some great stuff but...

    OT - New guitar day

These guitars sound great, I love the thick tone from a mahogany guitar. I'm picking up my other one today that is just like this one but it has a transparent black finish over a flamed maple top. I currently play through a Crate (solid-state amp) half-stack but my Peavey XXX 120W all-tube high...

    OT - New guitar day

I've had the parts to this guitar sitting around for well over two years now and I finally got around to finishing it up over christmas time. I have another one that should be done this week as well that is going to be sweet. Bonus points to anyone who knows what this guitar is a replica of and...

New pictures from the Aquarium of the Pacific

I was in Long Beach CA this week for work and of course slipped away to the aquarium for some new shots. I was there earlier this year but didn't have a very good lens to use (I didn't like my 24-105 F/4L), my 17-55 F/2.8 IS was a much better choice this time around. I think the shots came out...

    Buying a SLR

The lens is what really makes a shot, the money will be better spent there. I can't recommend any good macro lenses since I'm not familiar with Nikon gear, I can list off quite a few for Canon stuff though. And don't get fooled when a lens says "macro" in the title as very few of them will...

    New Arrivals 12/4

What's the price/size of the Cherub Angel? I've been looking for small and active fish.

    Buying a SLR

I would stick with either Canon or Nikon, they have the majority of market share for a reason. Another thing to consider is the availability of lenses and accessories, which are easily found for Nikon/Canon, but may be more difficult to locate for a Sony.

    Buying a SLR

I've been shooting Canon gear for a while now and really like the stuff. If budget is an issue, meaning you don't want to spend thousands, I would look into a used 30D as the price has been dropping since the introduction of the 40D. You can snag a used 30D now for like $700 and it takes...

Want to own part of Indoor Reef?

I saw that this morning as well. I think I remember them asking $10K for a 10% stake a few months back, I guess no takers.

let see your pics with out photo shop editing

I keep all of my original jpegs before I edit them up...meaning I only have like 10,000 pictures to choose from :D I'll post some more tomorrow when I get some spare time.

Here is an old one, which should look familiar considering it's your fish :) jpeg from camera: After PP:

Help with ID? (flatworm with a hard shell??)

Sherman, would you expect anything less? lol I tossed the guy back into the tank so he can keep eating algae :) He is one of the largest hitch hikers that I've found in my tank though, I'm glad to hear he is a welcome one.

Help with ID? (flatworm with a hard shell??)

I saw this guy crawling around on my rock this morning and snagged it out with some tweasers. It has a hard shell and a distinct mouth on the underside...which makes me think it can't be good to have in there. You can see some closed up zoanthids next to it for a size reference, I would say...

    Remember to Clean your Pumps

I've been thinking about pulling my two Seio's and cleaning them since I think the flow has been reduced. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a leprechaun in there :)

    I can't find it.

It was unfortunate that post processing threads took a slow death on RC. It's always fun to learn new techniques from others.

    my softy tank

It doesn't matter if you are going after an SPS or softy tank, you know how to do it. Hmm...maybe this tank will be on my list of "next to photograph" :D

Help w/planning for a calcium reactor

Hey Don, Any easy way to prevent the solution siphoning through the aqualifters? It keeps dripping once the timer shuts off the pumps. I used the cheap irrigation valves from HD and got the flow rate down to about 5ml per minute. That should be slow enough to fine-tune my needs, once I figure...

    dowflake suppliers?

I couldn't locate any Mag Flakes locally so I used Prestone Driveway heat that I found at my local auto parts store. I know Fred Meyer also carries the stuff for like $8. I guess the calcium chloride in the driveway heat is made by the Dow company and is also sold as Peladow, which is a...
