    Do you have a picture of the clam? I would not recommend iodine. Normally with PM, a FWD should be at least 25 minutes IOE. What is the temp in your tank?

    It took 2 of us to place it in the tank. :) When we took it out of the box to place it in the tank, it squirted to the ceiling. Didn't weigh it but it is heavy.

    The smallier the aquarium, the more you might experience chemitry swings due to evaporatiion such as pH, salinity. The more water volume to less chance of messurable swings. IMHO.

    Tridacna croceas and maximas are considered rock dwellers and the other Tridacnids are nornally found on the substrate. With that being said, nothing says you can't keep maximas or croceas on the substrate but I would recommend placing a flat rock just under the sand to keep them from digging...
