    Uptown Reef: In the Work

That would help, but I need that skimmer to cure the rock. I'm down to two decent skimmers in my house and one is in use. So it wont be until after I cure the rock. -Erik

    Uptown Reef: In the Work

Well, I hit a little snag in the construction of this tank. Had my car broken into lastnight and now the money for the closed loop pump is going to fix the rear driverside window : ( I may be selling some sps frags and colonys soon to try and generate enough funds to wrap things up. -Erik

    Jiddy's 220g MASTERPIECE!

Oh no jiddy, the half off mags were a great deal I was tempted to buy some myself, but they didn't have the 9.5 I needed. I was refering to the wattage you are sucking down running more pumps than need be. It is suprising how fast $5 dollars more a month adds up to the cost of a pump. My...

    Jiddy's 220g MASTERPIECE!

Jiddy it will cost you more to run three pump than one or two, but yeah, if you have what you have, then there is no reason you can't split the loop in half and use a mag12 on each side then use the iwaki for the return. -Erik

    Jiddy's 220g MASTERPIECE!

Jidmiester, I would really like to help you with this if you could just answer some of the question I asked you in my initial post. They are crucial to properly planning your closed loop. At the very least tell me how many outlets you have and what size plumbing. Then I could make a more...

    Uptown Reef: In the Work

And on the third night he created the closed loop and return fittings and it was good. ; ) I have to reduce the locline length by about 4 units, but she is all ready to plumb this weekend. -Erik

    Jiddy's 220g MASTERPIECE!

Never doubted your fervor to do this correctly, you have almost out-posted my nearly three years of RF time in a matter of months, I was just trying to head you off at the pass before you ran into what could be a potential problem in the future. It seems you have decided all your plumbing and...

    Jiddy's 220g MASTERPIECE!

jiddy, As of yet, I have refrained from entering into your wild rabble of a tank thread, but at risk of you being terribly dissapointed in the future I would recommend you go MUCH higher than a mag 12 for a closed loop on such a large tank. Do you have diagrams of the plumbing so we can look...

    Uptown Reef: In the Work

Tom, I tried to use the sump, which was killer, but it would not fit. Mattseattle actually bought my whole 110 gal setup and he will get to use the sump. -Erik

    Uptown Reef: In the Work

The ghetto reef is getting a new uptown appartment. I should have it done in a week or two. Here are some progress shots. Just 60gal 48" tank, but I can do something nice with it. I have to finish plumbing the closed loop, paint the back and mount the lights, then she is ready to go...

    Ghetto Reef: ~14 months

she is packed to the gills Plack. I am in the process of thining her out, replacing colonys with new frags. I have about 3-4 to sell soon here. Get it small again and up the quality a tad. -Erik

    Ghetto Reef: ~14 months

Reed, I saw that little suggestion and I will see what I can do. I am moving on the of 13th june and The Ghetto Reef is moving into a new tank on the east side ; ) , so I may not be ready again in time for the tour. If I have two months I might be able to get the new tank up to snuff. -Erik
