    Gort's Solana 34 - a journey of a thousand mistakes...

I'd recommend junking the skimmer altogether, which is what I did after a month of playing with it. The pump wouldn't stay put in the bottom of mine and was really loud, plus I could never get the skimmer cup adjusted perfectly. There's a couple options for skimmers... If you want to put it in...

    J-Ranko's 15 Gallon Rimless Nano

Try a small fighting conch and some ceriths.. They should take care of it. Fighting conchs alone work wonders on keeping your sand free of algae.

    Carib Sea Reef Select

Well, I can tell you the Aragamax Select or the Ocean Direct original(which is what we use in all of the tanks here, including the fish tanks with any leopard wrasses. They burrow in it just fine) would both be fine for a leopard wrasse. We do not have the Super Reef, but the grain size is...

    Carib Sea Reef Select

Do you mean the Aragamax Select? Its the only "select" that I can find on their website. If so, then yes, we have 3 30lb bags of it, and they are 49.99ea(we don't have a Special Grade CaribSea?). We also have CaribSea's Ocean Direct live sand, original grade, which is what we use in all of our...

Anyone know how to get rid of this stuff?

That's what most places call "blue sansibia".. [Example] It definitely can get invasive, just like xenia and anthellia... As for how to get rid of it, pretty much the only way I can think of would be to use kalkwasser paste and kill it back like you would aptasia(or nuisance xenia, mushrooms...

Its kinda funny where photos of me or just my photos show up on google... I've noticed when googling a variety of ORA corals, mine are in there somewhere.

Some GORGEOUS A.chrysopterus, Blue bar Clownfish...

No big. lol. But yeah that's Malcom McDowell. He's been in a mess of movies. Tank Girl, One of the newer Star Trek movies, Lexx, a REALLY messed up movie about a russian communist pedophile called Evilenko, The Book of Eli... uhhhh.. that's all I can name off the top of my head right now. But...

Some GORGEOUS A.chrysopterus, Blue bar Clownfish...

We got this pair in as a surprise on our recent order... They sold already, but I figured i'd share a couple pics as they aren't too commonly seen... The blue on these guys was unreal, photos totally don't do them justice... Super iridescently blue that shimmered as they swam.

Commensal Birdsnest Pistol shrimp? ID pics for you, Leslie

That is super cool! Thanks for the reply Leslie and Kevin. :) Wish I had a big birdsnest colony of my own to house these guys in. I'm assuming they die without a colony to host in? Since it takes away part of their food source?

This isn't meant to be a sale thread, think that would violate the TOS of the site. PM me if you have any Qs about that. :)

Commensal Birdsnest Pistol shrimp? ID pics for you, Leslie

So I was unpacking a coral shipment from Fiji today and came across this pair of pistol shrimp living inside a big, football sized Pink Birdsnest colony. They're the same color as the base of the birdsnest, with bright blue eyes. Really cool looking. I've never seen commensal pistol shrimp...
