    Looks like you've put a ton of thought into your system! three years of planning wow! I'm excited for you and I'll definitely be following this thread. Hopefully your tank builder works faster than you plan :P We opened back in Feb. 2015... but I don't think we'll be moving to Denver anytime...

    corals lose color super fast, and it sometimes feels like forever until they regain their more colorful pigments. You just have to take your time and make sure the aquarium is stable before everything will color back up. Be patient! Depending on how far stressed they were, it might take more...

    Its possible you have too much nutrients in your water . I don't think a little bit of tap water should affect your system that much. maybe your bio load is too high or your feeding too much? These are just guesses.

    The two faculas are definitely quite active swimming around the tank, but i haven't seen much of the declivis. he might still be adjusting to the new home. He does swim back and forth every once in a while but doesn't like to hang out in the open it seems. Maybe the declivis is just camera shy...
