    12DX - First saltwater tank

Ya, I tore apart my 9 gallon nanowave because of scratches and just use the parts of it like the ballast for miscellaneous projects. That tank was by far the coolest all-in-one I've owned and I can't find them anywhere anymore since they only produced a few of them and don't make them anymore. I...

    12DX - First saltwater tank

I'll have to try the vinegar trick. The biocube kinds gets neglected since it is my secondary tank. The salt creep drives me nuts. There is always a thick white line of salt going around the lid and the base of the tank. Also i have some light scratches that bug me when the glass is cleaned. I...

    My new Nano

Ok, here are some updated pictures. I cut apart some of my corals and permanently mounted everything. I've added quite a few things over the last few days including 2 clownfish, a bangaii cardinal, two feather dusters, a staghorn crab, and two nudibranches and a media reactor.

    12DX - First saltwater tank

Everything looks nice and clean. I'm surprised your biocubes plastic light protector is in such good condition. Mine always gets ugly. I love those green star polyps too. I have been wanting to get a nicely cover rock for a little while now. How much did that diy led kit cost you? Were did you...

    My new Nano

Ya, i'll have to play with my camera to get the correct colors. I plan to add a pair of clowns tomorrow. Dan got 12 boxes of fish today! So if your looking for livestock, now is a good time.

    My new Nano

I'm getting around 1 gallon per day of evaporation. I'm trying to upload some pics now. I've been busy all day putting snow tires on the cars and cutting my buck up and turning it into burger. I moved a few more corals into the tank today that aren't in the pictures. I also picked up some clean...

    My new Nano

Cool, which one did you get? I think im going to sell my biocube 29 so I can get the vdm module and breakout box. I need to set up an ATO since I have so much evaporation from the open top system.

    My new Nano

I have some pictures on my camera to upload. i will try to get them up later today. My corals were looking very poor after being in my biocube 29 for a few weeks. I was afraid to put them in my new nano because I do not have the vdm module for my apex yet and I'm pretty broke so I havent ordered...

    Lost Creek 270

Beautiful setup. I really like your holding tanks. It's my dream to have an auto water changing system. Hopefully that won't be too far off now that I have an Apex system. That liter meter is very cool to. I've heard a lot of great things about them.

    My new Nano

I've actually heard that toothless skims better than overflows with teeth. I'm not sure if its true or not, but may be worth looking into. Most of the time the water the will be running through the holes in the overflow though. I was worried about surface skimming but I didn't really have a...

    My new Nano

Ok guys. Here are some pics as promised. Sorry they are so late. A few unique things about this build: The stand was a wine cabinet. I removed all the shelving and wine storage on the inside, then did 3 coats dark stain and 3 coats polyurethane. The overflow is one of kind. I wanted something...

    WIP - 40 Breeder

Ya, I think the bean animal is the way to go as far as noise goes. I think 3 holes is overkill like some do. 2 holes gives me plenty of flow on my system with zero noise and I'm not worried about flooding since my second hole only has a trickle flowing through it.

    My new Nano

No, the only thing programmed is my heaters since they were easy. Even the lights were confusing. I think the apex uses military time or something. I still need to figure out how to get access to the apex when I'm away from my home and not on my own network too.

    My new Nano

Ok finished everything last night but my living room looks like a hurricane hit it lol. I'll to take some descent pictures this afternoon and post them. I'm really happy with the way my slim bean overflow turned out and the mp10 makes a nice little wave through my tank. I bent conduit and hung...

    WIP - 40 Breeder

By the way, I have a 1 3/4" holes saw from glass-holes if you would like to borrow it and save a few bucks drilling your tank. I'm pretty good at it now after drilling two holes in my tank. I made a wood template to get the hole started then took my time at medium speed apply on the weight of...

    WIP - 40 Breeder

Wow, great job. That thing could hold a mac truck! Great minds must think a like. I spent all day and almost all night finishing my tank setup. I'm super super happy with everything. I'll update my thread tomorrow when I'm not so tired. Looking forward to getting together sometime. I need help...

    My new Nano

I will post up some pics soon. I picked up a hardwood wine cabinent to use as a stand. It is a very ornate and solidly built cabinent so Im pretty happy I found it since it was exactly what I was looking for in a stand. I have been refinishing the inside of it and now i'm coating it with...

Update on the 400 gal in Polson

Ya thats why I picked one up. The newer pheonix models will be released soon at $500. I ultimately decided that the sol was still a great deal and well worth the price at $400.
