Come pick my brain...I know there are more beginners out there.

I would like to give credit to whoever got me thinking about making a acrylic base and drilling holes in it for the rods and rock, as a support base for aquascaping, but whoever you are, thank you! Yes, acrylic rods. I have at least 200 pounds in four tanks, waiting to go into the new DT and I...

Come pick my brain...I know there are more beginners out there.

akunochi, I have two questions! Would drilling (and then of course rinsing) established liverock create any sort of bacteria bloom or cycle? In my DT (center return box, 1 1/2 inch main drain, Herbie) I am experiencing a lot of noise. On and off again, not from crashing through the teeth of...

i quit and did it my way,,,bye to reef keeping everyone

Dang, I have only heard of your tanks, everyone has told me... "Have you seen Dang's Reef? It is amazing!" I've never met you, but your legacy carries on. Cheers to you and your dedication. I am only sorry that I never had the pleasure to see your tank in person.

    ~ JUNE ~ North Sound Reefers ~ Get Together @ RED 'C'

I will really try and be there. (Mr. nana too, with his mad skillz at picture taking) BUT, I will be having surgery on the 8th and don't know how well I will be feeling on the 11th. Can I say, 50% chance?

Replacing a lost Black Ocellaris - input please

In my juvie growout tank I had over 20 occelaris, all ranging in size from just under an inch to an inch and a half. They were all nearly the same age, 8 months old, and were already exhibiting paring off/pecking order/dominance over a rock or a corner. My guess is that your two were already...

    Customer Appreciation Sale 2011

First of all, a big thank you to Cy for helping me sort out my problem concerning closed loop vs. my two brand new Vortech MP40s! Although I didn't get to buy any fish or corals today ( SO TEMPTING!) I am extremely happy with the decision to go Vortech. Now to get these puppies running and see...

    Another Steel Stand!

Boy, I am glad that Jason and the engineers here are on top of this! As I told Jason when we met and discussed everything, I wanted a super-sturdy stand, which is why I went the steel route vs. a husband-homemade stand. I mentioned earthquake "proof" and we talked about attaching the stand to...

    Dragonface pipefish fry update

Well, I have to write my sad conclusion, as in other threads in other forums on same subject, they all are sadly lacking their end result, which makes me believe that there has not been much success in rearing DF pipefish fry. Today, all four have died. (wow, that was hard to write!) I have...

    Another Steel Stand!

Hey! That's my stand! :) WOOHOOOOOO! NICE Jason, thanks! This is just the beginning, wait 'till you see the tank he is making for me. This bad boy will be 60 long, 24 deep and 30 front to back. More details as we progress.... meanwhile, I am collecting frags and frags. Small...

    Dragonface pipefish fry update

Today's update, all four are still alive and kicking. Two are considerably larger and more active than the other two, and I can see them "snicking" at some food occasionally. I am watching the two smaller ones carefully, I am afraid that they aren't eating. I've reviewed my original invoice...

    Dragonface pipefish fry update

Thanks Mike and Krish ( and Sid, for your vote of confidence) - I am praying that they make it but just as in clown raising, there is a learning curve. My first attempt at them I only had two survivors, but I did get better at it as I went along and yep, that water change bit can get tricky...

    Dragonface pipefish fry update

The count is four and obviously newborns. I wish I could post a pic but really they are just SO tiny! They are very wiggly, clear with some banding and you can see their silver eyes and little bellies. I would describe them at first glance as clearish, long worms. There were more, but I don't...

    Anyone want baby Dragonface Pipefish?

Thanks Brie, wow, what great timing! :) I just came in for a giant striped turbo snail for my granddaughter (oh and tell the guys in the store to stop scaring her! lol) and now I have a project on my hands. I wish I could take pics, tinier than clownfish larvae that's for sure. Time will...

Live Web Cam of 375 gallons of ocean treasure

Now, that's a great idea! Your tank looks awesome, can't wait 'till you add another angel or two. :) Your pyramid angel looked at the camera, , I think he was using some sort of fish-fin sign language and was trying to mouth the words...something like, "lonely, need buddy soon!"

    The Class Act Aquarium Stand

I just found your build thread here and all I can say is WOW! I do believe Hubby is getting some new tools for his birthday, along with a link to this thread. Mr. Nana will either be praising you or cursing you shortly....lol

Any one know how to feed newborn clowns?

I raise clownfish! I think maybe you were thinking about me? I made a short YouTube YouTube - Nanachloropsis's Channel Royalreef, PM me, or just ask away and I will do my best to help you.

    Show off your clownfish!

Here is the latest pic of my 8 month olds, they are not quite big enough to sell yet (only just over an inch long) and are my puppies. There are about 30 of them.
