    Bright Colored Toadstool Leathers

Ok, so this dying thing, I'm afraid I don't understand. How do you dye a coral and how can you tell if coral has been died?

    WAHOO! New Corals!

Yeah, shipping is sometimes a necessary evil if you want something specific that no one has locally and you want it now, LOL

    WAHOO! New Corals!

I got these corals from Ian @ Welcome to Reef Odyssey - Reef Odyssey. He was really helpful and his price on the Jedi Mind Trick was really reasonable and the frags I got were a really good size.

    WAHOO! New Corals!

I just bought two new Corals and am so excited. The first one is a Jedi Mind Trick Monti which is amazing and second is a Eyes in the Skies Chalice. Just wanted to share and see if anyone has these corals and their experiences with them. The Jedi Mind Trick is farely rare from what I have seen...

    Weird emerald crab

That pretty cool! last crab I had that climbed out of the water made it half way down the hallway in my house, only to be found by my daughter who mistook it for a toy and FREAKED when it moved in her hand. She dropped it and it ran. When I got home from work my wife wouldn't go in the front...

possiable id ??? and good or bad???

I don't see why not. Any harmless, algae mowing critters are a good thing to have around. They are kinda cool in the wild cause they will suction to rock and then the tide rolls out and you can find tons of them all over the place. Really hard to pull off rock once they clamp down if you don't...

possiable id ??? and good or bad???

The large one for sure looks like a Chiton. Total algae mowers. I have had some in my tank that I found at the beach for a while now. No issues so far, have sps, nems and zoas.

    OMG Moments of Stupidity...

Ok, so I haven't been in the hobby that long (about a year) so I don't have too many oops' yet. However, my first one came when I added 60 pounds of rock to my tank. I had the tank running for about 4 months and had only about 10lbs of rock in a 42g column. I acquired an entire system from...

    gonna start a 55 gallon

Hey juizy, how long have you had the 55g running on a canister filter? I found that my canister became a huge nitrate producer once my tank matured. Im going opposite, I am ditching the canister and going sump/refuge. Should make water changes on my system less stressful on the inhabitants as I...

3 Spot Damsel Trying to Host My RBTA???

Here is a site that talks about Three Spot Damsels hosting nems. Damsels can host anemones? What you describing sounds like exactly how my clown acted right before he started hosting my green BTA.

Big Al's 34 "Reef in the Mountains" RSM 130D

Don't get me wrong, if I could afford to spend $80 on right now I probably would cause I love watching the little critters in my system. Its just that I have this one thing stopping me... I call it a wife, lol, and she would flip if I spent that much money on another trinket for my tank.:yell:

Big Al's 34 "Reef in the Mountains" RSM 130D

Cool Product! Outrageous Price! I can't belief they want $80. I could probably buy a magnifying glass, a small sheet of acrylic, pull out my dremel and recreate it for $15, and I dont have wholesale suppliers for either. In the end I'm just jealous that I don't have one. LOL!

    Detritus - Good or Bad?

This is a great post. Wish I would have had this post early on when I started the hobby. I would have never started with a canister. Since I have started using it for media only and rinsing it out more often, I have had way less issues with my nitrates.

    Cleaning used equipment.

I have used vinegar and it works great. Gets rid of the nasty smell too if you bought equipment that wasn't cleaned properly. I have also used bleach on my rock. I always rinse them several times in clean, fresh water after and then soak them in water with a little water conditioner to get rid...
