    Water Damage to Home?

I have seen people line the inside of the tank stand with pond liner or paint it with epoxy. This keeps the water spills inside the stand from seeping onto your floor. I would love to find an extra large car floor mat to put under the stand :-)

Most people start with the cleanup crew but I don't expect that the bacteria care very much :-) I land on the side that feels that a CUC is nice for keeping down algae, turning over the sand etc. but it does not do much for removing nutrients. As long as you take your time adding anything which...

    %$^#&# Clove Polyps

What is it with you islanders and liking the fuzzy look? :-) I'll bring some for you when I run out there with some for Justin. They are not impacting other coral as of yet, though as fast as they grow, they could compete for space. I would think that Zoas might have a hard time pushing...

Howdy! I'm glad you made your way to RF. There are great folks here ready to asist. To answer your question, you should only see one spike in ammonia. As the ammonia reduces, you should see nitrite show up. Once the nitrite and ammonia tests read 0 for a day or so you should be all set. Stock...

Thanks Duane! I didn't think of that. I will build one and fry me some cloves! It may not work, but at least I will enjoy the process :-)

I have a question about my aquarium!

Is the film up at the top of the tank on the water-line? If so, it can be salt, or algea. I have a sort of film that is around the rim where my mag float will not reach. I just scrape it when I do water changes.

Thanks for the info Lorrie! That would take a ton of Kalk to kill what I have going. Still, better to start now I guess.

    Display tank water circulation question

All the above :-) I'm running 4 koralia Evo 1400s in my 120Gal. Pretty good pumps overall. I have to clean them more often than I think they should need, but you sure can't beat the price.

    %$^#&# Clove Polyps

Yep, that's them. I didn't really expect anyone had an answer, but it never hurts to ask. I don't have quite as much as you Erik, but at the rate they are growing, they will be there by the end of the week :-( I don't think that either of you really want any, but I will see if I can get some off...

    %$^#&# Clove Polyps

Soooo, I have a bad case of clove polyps. Very short peach-fuzz looking stuff. I have no idea how they were introduced, but I really want them to go away. What the heck should I do? They have spread pretty far in the tank, and they are on rocks with well established coral, so I hate the idea of...
