    Summer Plans.

Sounds great to me, I am fine hanging out, or doing the cruise. Why anyone would want to look at my tank is a whole 'nother issue :-) I think that Colin has talked me into re 'scaping the tank this week. we will see.

Hey Justin, This is a great article from Randy about making adjustments, it lays it out very nice. http://advancedaquarist.com/issues/nov2002/chem.htm

    Putting in new corals

'pends on the coral and how it is attached. SPS I can usually clip off the plug right at the glue line with side cutters, coral cutters, dremmel or very carefully with a chisel. Softies can typically be scraped off of a smooth surface with a blade. I use an exacto knife with a chisel blade for...

    What do you guys think?

Nice! I actually laughed out loud at your reply... Text me the info, I'm headed out pretty quick. I can bring your knitting supplies with me tomorrow. When you finish with the scrubber perhaps I can get you to make me a "#%$% warmer" I'm thinking a nice red with purple trim.

    Putting in new corals

+1 to Other Todd for sure! Live rock rubble is the way to go with frags. Most coral can be removed from plugs with a little effort.

    Red Slimer Algae

Wow Krish, with the flow you ran I can't believe that ANYTHING not glued down would stick anywhere in your tank :-) Markee: Way to stay on top of things! As they said above, a little siphon work, change up the flow, and slow your feeding a bit. Should take care of it. Nearly everyone gets red...

Thanks Floyd! It would be great if you can join us at 3. If you want to talk with Justin and see which filter is best that would be cool. Call me tomorrow when you are free and we can sort the rest out. I'm thinking that if you have a pump with a long hose it might come in handy as well. I'll...

Lee need your help with ID and treatment course.

Thanks Lee, do the (limited I know) pictures suggest MI to you? It seems rather faster than other cases I've heard others talk about. Thanks for the advice on the filtration. Do you know if I used the cannister filter with a Cu treatment would it be harmful to use with turtles after? I will post...

Damn, I can't leave Bellingham until about 1. I will check with Jeff to see if he can get there before you head out. I hope Lee has a look at this soon...

Lee need your help with ID and treatment course.

Very cool Justin, thanks again! I have no idea if it is safe for turtles or even how much copper would stay in the filter. Lee, as long as you will be giving advice, any help with this question?

    Ca and Mg high

Justin is bang on. I would add that you should test your mix water before you add it. See if you have elevated Mg or Ca in your current batch of salt. If so, you can use some regular IO (typically low in Mg) for your next water change. If not, just let it come down on it's own. As Justin says...

Thanks Justin! I forgot that I have a 100 gal stock tank, that would work well. If I have to do copper, I would hate to run that through your fx5. I don't know if you could use it in a tank with inverts afterwards. If someone knows for sure that it would be safe, I will take you up on the...
