Ok my sump is a little off the norm. Please help me with flow choice.

I do have a scrubber on the fuge side. Its currently off. Ill put it back on later this summer after I see how things handle themselves without the scrubber running. It worked great when it was running. And ya, it reduces the nitrates much better than if i was doing chaeto. If anything having...

Ok my sump is a little off the norm. Please help me with flow choice.

Its not hard to clean. The one downside is sometimes frustrating to get it to flow even after a few days growth that gathers in one section faster. The excess slurping means noise and evaporation. That plays out good in the fact that your constantly adding fresh water. I'll be checking out...

Ok my sump is a little off the norm. Please help me with flow choice.

12months later.... ha ah. well this is an old old one. This place is pretty dead. Not too many members, mostly people who barter and frag swap imo. Anyways, I got it setup and running now for some time. It has 50lbs of LR and a 12x19" scrubber on the left. The center is empty and that needs...

    How about a phoogle section?

For those not familiar with phoogle. Its like Google maps, except you enter your coordinates onto a us map for everyone to see. For example, I live in graham. I would pin my name to Graham and everyone on the forums would see That King_Neptune resides in graham. This is pretty handy for those...

That rock you sold me is now in full bloom! Took a couple days, the Greenbay packers opened up right away. The ones in the middle(I forget the name...yellow and orange) took a day to open up. And the dragon eyes on the opposite side took 3...but now I have 100% of them opening up. Thanks.

    Does ICH control fish?

Ya, Looks like a duck.... Just so odd about the other symptoms. At any rate, Im going to do this. Thanks for the help.

    Does ICH control fish?

Actually the one is the foam wall build that is very securely permanent. Volunteer removal only. The other is under all of the base rock at the bottom of the pile. He use the whole pile as a network of tunnels he dug. Basically trap him, or remove a dozen pieces to pull him out. If that...then...

    Does ICH control fish?

    Does ICH control fish?

I guess you missed the part where the Symptoms aren't appearing in a typical fashion. They show up only after a sand bath, and only in one specific spot in the tank. The very nature of the parasite is it manifests visibility after impregnation. Not a clean fish going from nothing to covered in...

    Does ICH control fish?

Im already entertaining how to trap them...but they are very very shy. I can leave the inverts in the tank right? I got a sea apple, hermits, snails, and a sea hare. Might actually be an interesting time to add some cheap frags and see what happens in the two months there are no fish.

    Does ICH control fish?

well its none of the above for me. rocks were in first, over 5 months ago.100lbs 72x20" foam wall for extra filtration. Scrubber and Phos/Carbon reactor. 125DT/55Sump I got 7 small fish, 1 medium sized tang. No over crowding there, lots of open space and hiding space. I never have anything but...

    Does ICH control fish?

What makes the fish dive for the sand and root around? Is the white dots I'm seeing the pregnant ICH? Or is the White dots Sand? Thanks for the links, I been doing a bit of extra homework for the last few hours as well.

    Does ICH control fish?

Ok that's an odd one but this is the full story: My basic understanding of ICH, It is a parasite that latches on to the fish, it looks a lot like the fish was sprinkled in salt, The parasite then falls off and returns to the sand to gestate and whatnot. Then hatches new larvae, from there it...

    Neptunes first tank: 125DT 55Sump

Got a few new fish last week. Lost a crab and a fish two days apart. Both were found on the floor, dry :( The lawn more blenny never did eat, he eventually died. I tried everything I could think of. Pellets, mysis, brine, algae, nori, even ready mixxed food. The best I got was a nibble, but he...

    Neptunes first tank: 125DT 55Sump

took a few shots. Scooter chilling on a rock. He now seems to be comfortable letting me see him. But he still doesn't venture far from the cave. Bert scrambling after some raw shrimp, man everyone goes ape over rod fish food. its smelly, and bloody. and $20 for a packet. But wow does everyone...

    Neptunes first tank: 125DT 55Sump

After a lot of thought, I broke down and got a few more inhabitants. The tank should be able to handle everything just fine, so I'm not stressed, people add stuff much faster all the time with less filtration. And its nothing a water change cant handle. I picked up a baby yellow watchman goby and...

    Neptunes first tank: 125DT 55Sump

Hear is a bristle worm for ya! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hWc62JH_Ag&feature=related As for the foam wall hiding the over flow. That is possible, but very very difficult, and I didn't want to try it on my first build. Now that I know what to do I can do it relatively easy on my next one...

    Neptunes first tank: 125DT 55Sump

~touche. I think Ill see about keeping them. Ive seen some HUGE bristle worms. 8-10" in length. That is what I'm worried about. i don't know if they prey on fish. But I definitely don't want that kind of scenario happening.

    Neptunes first tank: 125DT 55Sump

man its frustrating because I know they are good cuc, but they are so hard to keep in check. im amazed how fast they breed. i literaly can look on every rock and count 3-4. imagine what I cant see and on the back sides of the rocks, i cleaned my filter sock after a couple weeks, and there was...
