    cal is 480 ph is 8.0 mag tested a month ago was 1380 salt is 35ppm i need to buy a mag test so i can test at home. I go to the LF to get a mag test.

    The tank is using about 1.5 dkh per day. So I mixed up some baking soda and ro/di water last night. 2.5 table spoons in about 3/4 of a quart of water.     I would suggest getting a skimmer this weekend.. you may also want to look at running some carbon and gfo or some chem pure in the canister filter.. I would add a 2 more small power heads to get the water moving more as well. You have a very heavy bio load on the tank.. so doing weekly water...

    To UV or not UV?

    I have a little coralife 9 watt twist on my tank it needs a new bulb but it does seem to help very slightly with water quailty. I think i next time I would go to like a much bigger size than rated for so it would do more. the trick from what i read on them is to find the blance of water speed...
