Reading through this thread and I think I am still confused on which one is the digitate hydroids. The stringy fisher or the feather duster wannabes?

    No skimmer, no problem?

Ok, so I did some tinkering on the tank. Lights had some issues with wiring, now getting much more out of them. Tried to fix the impeller with super glue, this time the bloody thing blew apart completely. Like in several pieces. Checked water quality, all tests came out well but did two 10...

    No skimmer, no problem?

I have LPS, softies, shrooms and the three RBTAs. Going to take a pic of the tank as is and keep an eye on coral/anemone health with changes.

    No skimmer, no problem?

Good to know. I have a ton of Devils Hand frags to fasten and had just been using rubber bands to attach them to rock till they fastened themselves. I don't have a way of removing the silicone, I'll take a look when I get home tonight to see if there are any spots that might accept some...

    No skimmer, no problem?

I had considered super glue but was concerned about chemistry I don't know about leaching into the tank. From the poor guys post yesterday after having particle board hit his tank I'm glad I went the "if I am not 100% sure, I am not doing it" route. Its a circular collar like piece that...

    No skimmer, no problem?

I took a closer look at the skimmer last night, there was a piece of the pump impeller that had broken, repaired using zip ties to hold it back together and silicone. Once the silicone has a chance to cure, will see if I can fire the pump back up. Also performed a 20 gallon water change. It will...

    No skimmer, no problem?

My goal is not for the animals I care for to live in an environment where they are stressed or dying. I have additional lighting I can put on the tank and getting a skimmer up and running isn't a problem. The point of the post was to ask if this was a possible way to keep a healthy tank and if...

    No skimmer, no problem?

Prior to the split, there were two in the tank, both 9-10 inches across expanded, everything in the tank is healthy and all the water tests are all well within accepted parameters. All the corals are growing, all the fish are doing great as well.

    No skimmer, no problem?

I do give the rocks "storm blasting" about once a month. I hear you on the "kidneys" comment, I guess I was wondering if there were biological controls I could try. I'm sure it doesn't have the consistency but I figured it might be a good question to ask and see if perhaps clams or other...

    No skimmer, no problem?

So I have had my reef up for a precocious 6 months, maybe a little more. After about a month the skimmers pump quit and never revived despite my best efforts. I have a refugium in place that has some pretty decent growth and the tank is loaded with pods. All the corals, fish and other inverts...

    Hello!

Here is a pic of the Finger these days, seems to maybe have lost a bit of its color but still big and has great polyp extension.. This is an old image of just some of the frags, they don't look unhealthy and generally will extend polyps as well. Like I said, theres probably 8 or more of these...

    Hello!

Wasnt really sure where to post this but either I am having really good luck with or something is wrong with the big finger leather I have. I don't think he is losing mass overall but he is dropping finger frags at a rate of 1 a week. Like I said, it seems to be keeping up with the fragmentation...

    Any ideas?

I contacted them and they are really good about offering to refund or credit you when they come in poor condition but are a little low on helping keep the poor bugger alive.

    Any ideas?

Hey all! I ordered a Marble Sea Star and when the poor guy got in, he had damage on his legs and had shed a ton of his feet. I acclimated him very slowly, using an airline to drip fill a bucket over the course of 3 hours and was encouraged when I saw the little guy moving. He has completely...
