Drilling a glass tank?
Ive drilled a few tanks myself. Go slow and keep the bit cool. Let the drill bit do the work, do not force it. And ditto on the bottoms of tanks. tempered glass will shatter when you start to drill it. and when you are done drilling the hole, sand the edges of the hole till smooth. I read that...- Willy

is 1200gph possible through 1 1/2' drain?
You are pushing 4000 gph through a 1.5 inch pipe and that same 4000 through your sump? Im sorry but I highly doubt a single 1.5 inch pipe would flow 4000 gph heck I don't think you can flow that much through 2, 1.5 inch pipes. Does your sump sound like white water rapids with that much flow?- Willy

RO water with nitrates??
If it doesn't pass through DI resin a detectable nitrate reading is possible. If I'm wrong on this, maybe someone else can jump in with the right info. I would suggest getting an add on DI cartridge to add to your existing RO system, this will give you pure water..HTH- Willy

In my opinion I'd get the biggest sump you can fit under the stand. 10 gallon sump just doesn't give you many options. As far as flow is concerned what will you be wanting to keep in the tank? If you are wanting to go SPS id say you will want somewhere around 5500gph or more of water movement in...- Willy
