Leaving the hobby for a while... Selling Everything

Ralph has some really nice stuff, I saw it first hand this morning. All the fish looked really heathy and the setup it self is very well thought out. -Dan

    Referrals?

When a new member signs up there is a spot to type in the name of who referred them to RF.

Anyone have an Oceanic 8gal nanocube? Lighting Q.

What wattage? I have the fixture off of a Eclipse12 tank that I retrofitted to CF lighting. Maybe thats an option in your case too? -Dan

Need help with a remote fuge design

Cool setup, looks professional :D I'm tempted to wonder how the rubble chamber would have worked out if it had one tall baffle and a down draft design, kind of like a overflow in a tank. It looks like it might be interesting to get detritus out of it the way it is currently setup. -Dan

    Aqua C Urchin

Nylon doesn't corrode and is easy to replace. It's softer than the threads on the skimmer itself so it doesn't damage them. -Dan

Tank is gorgeous! Saw it first hand this evening, the woodwork on that stand is pure art. Not to mention the acrylic work ;) -Dan

    Old 'live" sand

Play Sand from Toys'R'us is useable, but has silicates. It may or may not affect you down the road, YMMV. There is another place that sells it for $1/lb in Bellevue (some teachers outlet store.) Silicate free but it isn't much cheaper than the stuff sold in your LFS. -Dan

    Aqua C Urchin

I read that due to design adding air to the inlet of the pump would make the AquaC's not function at all. They have one with a Mag3 strapped onto it, maybe upgrade the pump? -Dan

How to deal with Power Outages...

Whats wrong with premixing, Don? If you use decent oil the stuff smells great :D -Dan

    Aqua C Urchin

That is its only use AFAIK. A while ago skimmerwhisperer posted about using that hole to possibly drill out the spray tip to increase performance but I'm not sure if that went anywhere. -Dan

    Ghettotastic Office Tank

Silicone works fine, I'm not sure where you heard that from. It's holding the homebrew overflow on my small acrylic in place as I type. Just be sure to seal it from both sides with a decent bead. Funny, eh? Acrylic tank with a custom acrylic overflow bonded together by aquarium silicone

    Old 'live" sand

Wash with RO water then let it air dry, used sand has all sorts of nasties in it that will decay and release things that are counter productive to your tank when you add it in ;)

How do you make your saltwater? Any tricks?

Bucket then warm water then salt. I see no reason to f*** up the rotation? I don't see Don, or any of the others here mucking around and trying to cause trouble. You come in, say that everything posted is wrong and the sky is green, then offer nothing to back up your opinion? I don't see...

    Hi all!! Need Advice.

Time to...Downsize! Don't sell everything, get a a smaller all-in-one and keep what you're really attached to. I'd consider making a trip over to that side if you feel like rehoming some of your livestock Aside from top-off, feeding and dosing these tanks pretty much run themselves.
