    xenia dying?

honestly nothing has changed other than increasing the light on time by 1 hour and adding 3 SPS coral on the other side of the tank. I have not feed any different, buffered anything different. Last WC was 1-2 weeks ago.

    40B stand/canopy

I got tired of looking for a stand to fit my 40b so the other option was to build one. I have $60 in the material so far. Once the bottom is done and I get the tank running I will finish a canopy.

New to Site and Saltwater Aquariums

Saint, also look into the PSAS (Puget Sound aquarium Society) thepsas.org. A lot of us are close to you and could help out with explaining and showing in person. It also may help a bit to just go to a monthly meeting just to ask questions and pick some brains. =]

    Silicone ?

Its not hard at all, I ripped out all of mine and replaced it with my current setup. I also had never done it before and just ran with it and hoped for the best. All you need is a razor blade to start cutting away at the silicone and you have to make sure you get down to where the glass is...

    aptasia and manjanos

If you want to kill the rock and get rid of everything on the rock and all pests then yes. You can soak the rock in freshwater and abit of lemon juice. Also keep the rock in the dark and soak for 2 weeks. After that it will smell like death and you will need to cure the rock.

Its all about the ma required for the relay. If the relay needs 100ma@5vdc, but the arduino only puts out 40ma@5vdc per I/O pin then you can not run the relay without shorting out the I/O pin. You can have a 5v power supply for everything but if you run your circuit through the arduino you are...

Yes it can share the same power supply as the arduino, BUT don't supply the power to the relay through the arduino, Katchupoy, some people new to this would do such a thing and burn out the mcu as you know.

(Another) Arduino Light Controller DIY build.

If you are using a normal relay with the coil and contractors you should mot wire that directly to your arduino. most of those small relays need 100ma of current and the arduino can only push out around 40ma per I/O pin depending on your model. Also the inductive kickback from when the relays is...

josh88, im glad it helped, the best way to learn is by doing IMO. Rol, nice work, cant wait to see it done. Katchupoy, I see your in Kent, I'm in Tacoma If you need an overflow box made I have a CNC. like all of you money is always the reason for DIY here, and it gives me something to do.
