    Thanks for the suggestions... The problem with taking them out by hand is that they seem to spew out some chemicals. I assume this is probably is bad for the rest of the corals. I'll try few first that's covering my monti & candy-cane. Moeljo

    Aquatraders MH, T5, or CF lighting?

    I have a 55G, started with PC, as my corals grow my taste change, moved to 6x54W-T5's. Now thinking of jumping to either MH+T5 or LED. Had I known this, I could've gotten T5's first then add MH.     converting to T5's

    I too have TEK-t5 fixtures + retro. After reading above post, I took both my tank-cover and light-cover. Wow, it does look brigther! Though I am worried about the splashing and the buildup. Wouldn't it cause corrotion and short? How often do you have to clean the fixture?

    lighting on A 55gal tank

    T5 will work very nicely! Lower heat, yet bright enough even for some hardy sps's. I'd suggest at least 5x54W T5, half whites half actinic.
