Friendly gift came with some special things

I have a few colonies of Sun Corals in my tank and they're pretty cool..just a little bit of a pain in the ass to take care of, due to all of the spot feeding you have to do with them. These look exactly like the sun corals I have, just smaller versions. I say feed them and watch them grow, and...

    Rain barrel hose spicket?

COPPER BAD!!! lol. They have other metal nozzles you can choose from but copper definitely not good. The slightest can wipe out your whole tank.

    Rain barrel hose spicket?

+1 on what Derbird said. If you're using it to premix water then I would say no go with metal and your saltwater, but what I do is use it just for fresh RO/DI water, fill and mix my salt in a bucket when needed. Just a thought.

How to keep Cyrstal clear water????

+1 on the sump idea! I love sumps and with a sump you wouldn't need the canister filter, but since you do use a canister filter I would recommend running carbon in it. Just a thought.

It all started with a toadstool leather

Thanks Peppie I appreciate it. I just recently picked up a 120 acrylic tank that I hope to build a stand for and maybe within the next year or so convince the wife that it would look great in our house. lol. Slowly but surely she's showing interest, mostly in the fish though. I think once my...

It all started with a toadstool leather

It all started with the major ice storm power outtage we had this last January. :smow: I experienced what a lot of people experienced......dead fish. The power outtage lasted 4 weeks for me and I lost all of my fish in my 29gal bowfront FOWLR tank, and all but 3 out of 20 fish in my freshwater...

Looking good Janky. Glad things are starting to come together for you. sorry I didn't get back to you about that Kenya tree over the weekend but I still have it for you, and can meet up with you sometime this week to drop it off. Your candy canes look great, they will/should open up more then...

First SW tank.. tons of dumb questions! Help a newb get started? :)

In my opinion, you shouldn't add anything to your ro/di water other then the salt, of course, when you do wc. I think the less chemicals added, the better off things are. I usually keep a 5 gal bucket of mixed water for water changes on hand at least a couple days before I actually change the...

First SW tank.. tons of dumb questions! Help a newb get started? :)

Definitely take these guys' advice Janky, they've all got at least a hundred years of experience between them. I'm still battling minor things like algae, but have started to get that type of stuff under control...which is also a good feeling of "doing something right". When I started with a...

If you're interested I have a kenya tree "frag" that I took out of my tank and put in the sump. By "frag" I mean I bought it attached to a small seashell, it's not very big, but if you want it you can have it no charge of course. Let me know, or just send me a PM.
