In your FTS, right in the middle of the tank, under the rock bridge, what are those white stalk looking things?!?

    Can't keep the sand clean

remember too, that if its a newer tank, this is part of the cycle it goes through. Reduce feeding, increase flow, siphon out, stir the sand (a lot/daily), and wait it out.

Wow Adam, Haven't seen the tank in a while, it's come a long way! It sure does look a lot fuller than I remember! I love the coco worm/feather duster on the edge of the rocks. Awesome coralline growth!

750 gallons, the worst first year in history...

WOW! That tank is amazing! It truly is like a "piece of the reef." It's incredible to see so many of the larger fishes living together peacefully like that. Awesome!

We had the dragon goby, sarang has him now, but he didnt touch the cyano when we had an outbreak, he'd go around it.

    Letting sleeping wrasses lie ?

Roscoe did something neat in his new big tank where he had half the tank bare bottom, and the front half witha small amount of sand for his wrasse. And I remember another lady that wanted to take her sand out, so she removed like an eighth of the sand a week or something, til there was just a...

    55 gallon lighting

for our 55gal, we bought the nova tek t5 fixture w/ 2x46w. It wasn't great, it ran really hot, but it was cheap, like $120 or something. it did fine though for a softy tank. We had the nova tek extreme pro 6x39w on our 46g, and that thing was AWESOME!! we grew everything in there. I know its...

    frag swap question

Not that I know of! Just your time and effort to do the setup. And selling stuff in the livestock for sale thread works pretty good. That might be a lot of stress on those fish to do that much moving and temp fluctuations and whatnot. The one they had in April had a huge turnout, like...

    frag swap question

Yeah, you can. The people that bring a LOT brought a little tank to setup. But most just do the styro box method.

    frag swap question

Uhh, YEAH!! :D Getting stuff from fellow reefers blows LFS prices out of the water, so to speak, lol. At the April swap, through the raffle, I got three cool sps frags for FREE!! And we got tons of frags from other reefers, and I think we spent $70 total. Its AWESOME!

    Emerald Crabs

We have one in our bc29 too. He's cool to watch picking at stuff. We thought he was eating our zoo once, but he actually was picking off a dead polyp. We've had him for 4months or so, and haven't noticed him going after anything, but he does love when you feed him, he goes crazy. We have a...

    sick fish help

Hey, an out there idea, But when we got our fist set of clowns one of them did the same thing that you're describing, and after a few days did die. And the thing that I was told is when a new pair are introduced, one has to become the female, and maing this switch can be hard on them, and...

Seattle to hot 90º this week

Well, it's 10pm, and we hust took our 2yr old and our dog and our cats out in the yard to play in the sprinkler. And it felt niiice. Flipping 10 o'clock!! This is nuts. Feels like Vegas. We have a 12k btu running nonstop for 3 days, and our house is 78deg. Atleast the tanks ok at 79. But we're...

    Shrimp Compatability

We've had a cleaner shrimp in our tank for a year or so, and we tried twice to add a peppermint. The first time, my fish ate the poor little PM as soon as he hit the water, the second time we protected him into the rocks, then the cleaner went to try to eat him. We got the biggest peppermint the...

Odyssea Metal Halide Pendant 150W with T5

Nice find, I'm interested to see what others think too. I now Mark, Skimmerwhisperer, tends to like their stuff, and we have their skimmer, which works like a champ. But lights... you're talking heat problems, fire hazards and whatnot. But this'd be awesome on our biocube. Better than 60watts...
