    Ecotech battery Backup

Does anyone know how big the 12v plugs are for the ecotech? I have two but .. if anyone knows I will ebay them. I have 20 AGM batteries from our work UPS that are retired but still good, one of these has 5 times more amp hours than the default ecotech and I could set up my apex battery backup...

How do we get new people in Reef Frontiers?

Everyone is on mobile now, uploading pics is a pain in the ass. Tapatalk is a joke. I too miss the forums where you can search and find things organizes unlike fb. We need a fb type interface, yet individual searchable forums.. Time to check out current forum products.

    Bryopsis Spot Treatment?

So.. I have had the tech m at 1800 for about 20 days, and it was still growing, I did lights out for a couple days and that helped but i was still losing. I received 10 turbo snails, and in 4 days. Gone. Literally the entire tank stripped. Mag is still high and I will taper down but soo happy...

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

So the turbos' from barrier didn't show up.. They were out of stock, but crystal reef (local) ordered some in and in and 4 days later my 200 gallon reef is clean, no sign of algae, all Briopsis gone. Tech m is still At 1800 but changing sump and will do some water changes. Now I am working...

    Bryopsis Spot Treatment?

First we need a nuisiance distruction forum :) hahaha Has anyone been able to spot treat Bryposis in the tank? Like Calc, or a boiling water shot to the roots? Peroxide etc? I will probably try boiling water and see what happens, it used to work on aptasia.

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

So the tank continues! Still working on getting rid of Bryopsis. Is there a spot treatment? Could I use hot water and squirt the base? This in addition to my Tech-M treatment? Just picked up some beautiful coral, a purple eyed green chalice about 6" across, and a pagoda about the same size...

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

I am using kent tech m. Cleaner crew is working, but a lot of coverage to do. Ordered some turbo snails and more aestrea from barrier due tomorrow. My 3 sunshine? Chromis harem showed up and are in quarantine along with two paired gobies and a very small pistol shrimp. All from live...

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

A word about my apex and Hanna test kits. First never ever bother with the Hanna calcium kit it is a gigantic pain in the ass. The Hanna kh tester is awesome albeit the syringe is nearly unreadable, but a quick test. I grabbed a break out box to play with an Ato backup, and I know about the...

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

Added dr. Toms waste away and the briopsis seems to have exploded everywhere long strands. Turning down lights. Cleaner crew came in today from reef cleaners.com. Wow 3" fighting conchs, cichlin, and a ton of snails and hermits. Hoping these guys will kick some briopsis ass and purge the...

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

Here I am a few weeks in now. Parameters are great, salinity 1.026, KH 8, Nitrates 0, Ammonia 0, a trace of phosphates. Small skimmer running in my 55 gallon sump (Euroreef RS-80), Apex up and operating. A bit of an algae bloom, bumped Magnesium to 1760, seems to be effective on some but a...

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

Thanks, great tip. ------- I found that Salifert is pretty reliable, until they get old. If fact I don't trust them when they get down to a few months of expiring. When you finish the syringe, fill it up again to the 1.0 mark and start over, then add the numbers together.

I have a 120 acrylic with a thousand aptasia he could work on for a while so I can rescue all of my mushroom's and palys! In Bellingham though.

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

While i'm spending money.. So I had purchased some reef radiance Proline+ LED's so I could control it with the Apex. The integration is kind of cool but frankly they don't have a very good spread on the individual led's or better angles, and hardly any shimmer. So with a fist full of dollars I...

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

It is tech M, I am thinking it's bryopsis, it definitely resembles it, but.. it's algae.. thin wispy splitting like a fern almost. You can see it in the pic above. I'm 1.9 liters into the mag now, latest reading 1410 (1/2 last night, 1/2 this morning) It read 1350 this am with my old...

    2016 200 gallon reefing restart

I had live rock, we wanted to fill out the bacteria and feed it with ammonia. Now I have identified some nuisance algae before adding fish and corals so.. doing a magnesium hike to wipe all that out then.. finally putting fish and slowly corals. I think I (the idiot) took one branch of tonga...

    20 Gallon Quarantine Tank

I'm setting up a standalone 20 gallon quarantine/reef tank. Just put about 1/3 of it full of live rock, no sand. Going to go the one and only (dr. toms) route to get the rock acclimated asap. Hoping I can get it up in a week.... I have a coral pickup and need this tank so I can rid some algae...
