How big a bristle worm is too big?

I'm so with you there- it's creepy to look in a tank that small and see something as long as the largest piece of rock. Someone told me I was keeping them as pets, especially when I gave a couple of big boys away in some caleurpa. I just don't know if I should be worried and if I should be...

How big a bristle worm is too big?

I have a 20 gallon nano tank, mixed softies and some damsels. In the tank are also just about every variety of snail, amphipods and copepods, hermit crabs, a peppermint shrimp, and bristleworms. Three of them- Harry, Barry, and Bob, are huge. Bob doesn't look like Harry and Barry, the bristles...

    mushrooms-separation

I've had really good luck just gently peeling the mushroom off the rock, and placing it where I want it in another location. If there is flow in the new location I use a little wedding tulle to hold it down until it adheres. If there's not a lot of flow, or I'm putting it directly on sand I just...

    Xenia Id

I'll see if I can get a pic, it may be a couple of days as I can't find my camera. I got the xenia as a tiny frag piece, and while it's gotten bigger it hasn't gone all over the tank or appeared anywhere else. The color is exactly the same as yours, and there is even a side stalk coming off like...

    Xenia Id

I have exactly the same xenia, that I got from my LFS. It's been in the tank for a couple of months, and hasn't done too much, other than growing new fronds. I think it's going to split, but it's starting from the top of the trunk section. I have exactly the same lighting, and it's in a 20g tank.

Fed Ex Goes Above & Beyond

My most recent fish order was from Les in Hawaii- even though I mapped the location of the FedEx office I couldn't find it as it wasn't the same as last time. FedEx was on the phone early in the morning, calling me at the same time I was driving around looking for the office- instead of just...

    All Nano Nuts Unite!!!

Yeah nano-reefs! Personally I'm excited to have a nano area, as that's all I'm able to have due to space, time, and expense. I have a 12g Nano-Cube that's a macro algae factory, and a 20g set up as a peninsula. Next task is to link them together...

    Dying star fish

How long was your acclimation? I acclimated mine for 24 hours, a red linkia, and so far it's doing well.

+1 for John at ReefCleaners. Super nice, helpful, healthy stock. Big selection of macroalgae.

    Underwater Sports Mantis tank

Fingers crossed the owner changes their mind. What better place than a dive shop? Excellent on the 1200 for return, that's what I have ready to put in.

    Underwater Sports Mantis tank

Would you mind posting some more detailed photos? This is exactly what I want to do with a 20g. Yours looks terrific!

    Emerald Crab and Bryopsis

Pincuchion urchin ate it all, except in one spot it can't get to. Mowed it all down, and it hasn't come back.

    Starting a Nano Tanks forum?

Yes please! I haven't gotten half as much good information from N-R forums as I have from here. I don't have room for a big tank, or the means.

I think we need a Invert only spot on the forums!

Yes please, for noobees like me who don't know what all the inverts are and are having a terrible time finding good information on the less common things. Tube worms, urchins, anemones, little hitchiker clams...

Can I put Cheato in my main tank?

I have a ball of chaeto tucked behind a rock against the back wall and it's been fine and happy. Doesn't really show there, but stays in place. I had some halimeda, but my urchin has picked it up and carries it around.

I think I might have it-

    Please help ID a hitchiker

Trying again at posting a picture- Nope. Sorry folks, I can't seem to get it figured out so there's no point in trying to answer.

    Please help ID a hitchiker

The picture is terrible, I'm not sure it'll be any use at all. I have two hitchikers on some recently acquired live rock. There's lots of feather dusters both red and white on it, and too much hair algae which will occupy some of my time now. I don't know what this small thing is- it's about...
