Tecno and Rocknerd's 90 gallon build

Day 9: No ammonia, no nitrites and 10 ppm nitrates so we added a couple Zoas, that was going to be it but my wife fell in love with the rose bubble tip, I knew it was pushing it but decided to add him anyway. Here's a closeup:

Tecno and Rocknerd's 90 gallon build

Day 5: All our water tests came up clean, we avoided a cycle by reusing the sand and live rock. So we added our first fish. Here's a closeup She was in heaven and started munching algae in the first minute after being introduced into the tank.

Tecno and Rocknerd's 90 gallon build

I talked with Rob yesterday and he mentioned starting a build thread so I figured I would fire one up with pics and explanation. I tend to be wordy sometimes so forgive me in advance. Background: My wife and I wanted to start a saltwater tank on more of a budget, we figured it'd be cheaper and...

    Bulk Head Leaking

McLendon's was great when I needed the PVC bulkheads in a hurry. Thanks again everyone for all your help, it'll make it a lot easier when I redo the overflow.

    How to start a refugium?

There's not enough flow for the cheato, and the power strip needs mounted properly. Funny how you can pick your own work to death and you're never 100% happy with it :-)

    How to start a refugium?

I posted in that thread, but mine's been up and running for almost a week now. I'm pretty happy with it so far. The skimmer still bothers me, and I need to top it off and start up the ATO but I should have time this weekend to get the doors back on and everything happy.

    How to start a refugium?

Its funny, this whole sump/refugium is so my wife can have a green mandarin.

    How to start a refugium?

I'm usually available nights and weekends too, so it's at your convenience. I did a lot of reading before starting my sump project so I ordered: Melevsreef.com - Refugium Bulb It's in the fuge with a small bit of cheato, but it sounds like caulerpa is a lot better. I don't mind running the...

What to do With a Wrasse

My six line is going to have to go, and we've only had him for a week. He started picking on our firefish we put in the tank at the same time with him.

    Bulk Head Leaking

Ahh that makes sense. So how should I fit the rest of my plumbing to the bulkheads?

    Bulk Head Leaking

Cool, thanks guys. I had ordered: these Assuming it'd just fit with my existing PVC, guess not :-) Like I said it's not urgent now, just something for the future.

    Bulk Head Leaking

Ok, here's a question that I'm sure has been answered before about bulkheads but I can't find it. I have 2 of the schedule 80 PVC bulkheads in my tank. The external threads on these perfectly match 1.25" and 1" PVC, however the internal threads are only 3/4" and 1/2". It's not a huge deal...

Help setting up Kent Marine Nautilus Turbo Eductor

Thanks Frankie and Finn. Frankie, I think even modifying the skimmer is a short term fix, I already broke part of it and had to weld-on it back together. I got a bit frustrated while I was trying to get it positioned in the sump. I think Finn is right though I'm not very good with stuff like...

Help setting up Kent Marine Nautilus Turbo Eductor

Thanks. It's a 90 gallon display tank with 120lbs of live rock and a 40gallon sump that contains about 30gallons of water. So subtracting the rock and sand it's probably right on 100gallons of total water. I'm thinking I'd better go for the cone, just in case. I got the tank off craigslist...
