Chuck F. had "U.S. Toyo" on his tank and I went and ordered them from an outfit in CA. They are excellent and I have 2 sizes that i have really been using pretty much 24 hrs/day. They were about $40 but very worth it. Hope that helps

Acrylic Glue - How long does it last?

I have a skimmer that is acrylic that has a very small leak though one of the glue spots too that I wondered about and the bad glue may have been the cause. Does the glue actually chemically bind the pieces together or is it more or less a superglue type stuff that can be peeled away? On my...

Acrylic Glue - How long does it last?

I am curious to know how long a tank is generallly good for? How do you know when the joints are going bad other that an apparent soaking of the carpets and the tank no longer should be safe to keep in the house.

    Pics of Catshark

Hey Matt, Just curious what the little guy eats? Is he a challenge to take care of? I would like to know how big the tank is? I have wanted one for a long time but thought they should be left for the best reefkeepers. Nice photos.

    Kalkwasser or Calcium Reactor????

It would be worth determining what type of demand that your tank is consuming before deciding to plunk down another bit of cash for a reactor. From what I understand - each tank has so many individual variables and you may end up with both. My tank is now using both to shore up the...

    Kalkwasser

I have had this problem and Boomer has been helping me over a couple months now getting things in line. I am quite new but I would only suggest: 1) get good, reliable test kits 2) Follow Boomer's advice to the "T". 3) Check out the link under his water chemistry - Wonderful world of reef...

    Predatory Starfish removal

Wow, Thanks for all the information. You guys are always great. I guess the bottom line for the Asternia is watch and see how they do with my corals. I would love to add a Harlaquin but it kind of defeats my initial intention unless I start another tank down the line for him. It sure is...

    Predatory Starfish removal

I am curious if there is any way to remove these little guys. I know that harlequins are an option and a tweezers is the second best way. Is there any way to dip my corals into some sort of solution to free them and not harm the corals? I have tried to remove them several times and they seem...

Help with the World of Reef chemistry

One other thing, the hair seems to be coming back but I can't seem to find what could be feeding it. I have chaeto (spelling) in the sump and a 24 hour light to help grow it. The only additives are the hikara mysis and they are rinsed after thawing with ro/di. My ro/di TDS shows 001. Can...

Help with the World of Reef chemistry

Boomer, Is my calcium reactor not able to produce enough to keep up with the usage on the tank? I can increase the bubble count and drip rate if it would help. I made the first of the two CaCl increases and for todays results: PH held higher last night. It only fell to 7.98 this morning...
