What exotic or unusual fish do you have?

Yep, reef safe, just not fish/invert safe! That was my frog fish, unfortunately he died a few months ago.

    Let's See Some Zoos!

Here are a few shots of my solana, as you can see it is mainly a zoa tank with a few softies, lps, a clam, and a frogfish. These shots were taken by returnofsid, thank you for taking them! In the first pic you can play a game of "find the frogfish". I will try and name the zoas, please...

    Nudibranch Confusion

More than likely a zoanthid eating nudi....you may want to consider a flatworm exit treatment to kill any newly hatched nudis, and then another on a few weeks to kill any eggs that may have hatched, if not, keep your eyes out for any feeding on your zoas at night!

    ajnweb's Solana

Thanks guys, it is starting to look like one giant colony! I really like the look of one giant mat of multi colored zoas, especially under actinics.

    ID Please

I believe they are a type of bubble algae. I think I have the same or similar algae, it does not pull off like regular green bubble algae, and it kind of feels slimy when you try to grab it and pull it off. Very tough to get a hold of without smashing it.

    Growths on Coral Beauty

Could it be bite marks from a blenny? I had a starry blenny, I believe, that would actually attack rabbit fish. It would strike incredibly fast and leave similar "kiss" marks on the fishes side. They do kind of look like the same marks a blenny leaves when it eats algae off of the glass. Do...

    what is this

More than likely the little dots are holes in the sponge. If you can touch it, it should feel soft like a sponge.

    what is this

Hard to tell what it is from the pic, but my guess would be a sponge of some type. I have some blackish sponges in my tank that grow in a pretty much round ball on the rocks.

    Earthquake safe classroom aquarium?

I think the lip would help restrain the surface, giving it 4 edges of restraint instead of only 3 (the front, back, and the bottom assuming we are talking about the side of the tank). If the waves are hitting the sides of the tank the lip should help redirect the outward forces back into the...

    Earthquake safe classroom aquarium?

When the big one does hit, depending on the age of the building, they will either collapse or be at near collapse, and then the tank is the least of your concerns. If you are in a newer school then you would have an additional factor of safety on the structure itself, but more than likely...

    zoanthid eating nudibranch

Myself and my neighbors both did a 3-4 times dosage of FE with great success....but yes, you need to retreat to kill the unhatched eggs....good luck!
