    splitting colt

Hi Sryder, How large is the unattached piece? If it's small enough you can put it in a platic cup (16oz cut in half) with some rock rubble. Place it away from direct water flow and it will attach. If it's big you can try nylon fishing line and sew it to some larger rock rubble. I've used wedding...

    nitrates caused by digging?

One thing you might think about is, If there are no nitrates in the tank/sand bed to begin with then the gobi problem would matter. Could be poor skimmng, water flow/circulation, amount your feeding. How deep is your sand bed? and how old is your set-up? Tom C.

Hi Guys. I've talked to Leroy on many occations, I purchase hermits and snails from them every so often. Bought some coral frags from them too. Odd that you were told they don't use skimmers or have sumps? I know they use both. However, I know they have experimented lots over the years with...

    Feeding Habits of Lawnmower Blennies

I've had a Lawnmower Blennie for about 3 months now. At first he would not eat from the water collum, however I had quite a bit of green hair and other micro algae for him to graze on. That has now dwindled. Just recently he has been eating from the water collum. However, now I notice his...

Following the progress. This is a 10 year old tank that has begun to be restored. 6 months ago this take had nitrate of above 150ppm, phosphate 6ppm and hair and bubble algae covering the entire tank. Wish you could have seen it last June. It has a way to go, but watch and see!

    Sand Stirring substrates

I can speak from an experience I've had recently with my deep sand bed turning to a phospate sink. Low water movement #1 problem! I increased my water flow, added new skimmer, (worth it's money), and increased water turnover rate, and always do 20% weekly water change, and don't over feed. You...
