That is exactly the meaning of closed loop.... An intake below surface level plumbed to a pump, then returned to the tank, perferably below surface level....- Kensn

Overflow question
The size of the overflow box number of teeth and width of teeth on the overflow will determine the amount of flow it will handle and then the pipe can be sized to that. I know there is a calculator somewhere that tells you the flow based on total length of the overflow.. Let me go see if I can...- Kensn
