    lighting on A 55gal tank

    Needed to ask the same thing. Mine is 48" in length about 20" in depth and about 12" in depth. Wnat nothing fancy but do want shrimp and to start off with some easy corals. Please know that I am reading,reading, reading !!!Many thanks, Nancy

    Advice of refuge plumbing please !

    Ya'll are just awesome. Not really sure I get this but my husband will, he's a contractor. He's had to go a couple of states over just to find work. Will put him to it when he returns!!!!

    I did not add a plenum.....

    I don't have any fancy equipment yet and from what I see this is something simple to make and install. The tank is now 4 months old. No corals or anything similar....just a few damsels. Sould I pull out the rock and install one under the sand bed....even if it is a little undersized? I can see...

    I'm glad it's at least eating the brine until I can get the copepods here. Okay....sounds like I DON'T have a plan. Can someone give me SIMPLE plumbing instructions. I can move the 15 if needed. Thanks all! nancy

    So if I make sure the siphon is solidly in place I'm okay? Should I add a power head for the fuge? I've got my chaeto coming! The mandarin is eating the live brine! As always, thanks Mike!!!

    As shown in the link below,( tried to move just the pic here...couldn't do it ) I have my 55 and a 15 side by side. Will the plumbing work as shown and is there any neccesity for it to be a high quality power head? I'm hoping not as funds are very limited. Any and all advice appreciated!!!!:)...

    Returned the anemone pt. 2- help please!

    Thanks everyone for your input. Water tests good @ the lfs, too??? Will keep up with the water changes, try to get a good water testing kit, get my fuge plumbed, add some chaeto and then let things cycle for a few more weeks. Looking forward to coral days!!!

    I have but my strips only test ph, nitrates, nitrites and alkalinity. What else should I be testing for? Calcium I would guess! All info appreciated!!!!

    Returned the anemone......

    I had all my snails drop to the bottom one day...looked like the anemone was perishing ( had added him too soon). Returned him to the lfs as suggested here. He must have let off some toxins which did the snails in...my guess( input appreciated). Did about a 20% water change....what to do next...
