Gorgonian polyps closed for almost two days?

Thank you very much barry. After almost ten days, the gorg has opened up again fully to its original glory. I'm assuming it was shedding, as i see a very small amount of flaking.

Gorgonian polyps closed for almost two days?

I have put a new Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis, but from what i can tell he has been uninterested in anything but the rock and mysis. I have another gorg that is perfectly healthy to my eye anyway. The gorg in question is still closed this morning. Perhaps flow? Would a gorg that has appeared...

    HELP....Feather Duster Worm

Checked my parems again this morning. Salinity is a bit high, but not enough to bother anything else in the display, including three other dusters. The worm left it's tube and is sitting on the sandbed behind my rock structure. I got a few pictures of it extending out of it's tube. Doesn't...

    HELP....Feather Duster Worm

What ever happened to your worm nikki? I had a feather bail on me about four days ago. I haven't seen it since. I purchased five locally, and now a second one (interestingly the same color as the first one that bailed, and also in the same position in the tank) is stretching WAY out of his tube...

Gorgonian polyps closed for almost two days?

I have a gorg (corky finger i believe. Large polyped) that has retracted it's polyps for almost two days now. They come out slightly, but that is all. Any ideas? Is this something i should address, or is it possibly trying to shed? Nothing has changed husbandry wise that i can think of. I do...

    Caulerpa Sertularioides/racemosa eaters for a 26 gallon

I'm guessing about 30+ lbs nikki. I really can't say for sure. It's not isolated at all. Its everywhere. I posted some pics of the display a few days ago. I really don't wanna break the reef down. I think i would rather pull out the sps and make a display with them, and perhaps make this one a...

    Caulerpa Sertularioides/racemosa eaters for a 26 gallon

I also added some emeralds, but they don't seem to be doing much at all. I'm positive of the Sertularioides id. I'm pretty sure the other is caulerpa as well. From the advice i've gotten so far, it seems I might have to break down the reef for a permanent solution, but i'd just hate that. I...

    Caulerpa Sertularioides/racemosa eaters for a 26 gallon

unfortunately i introduced a small purple tang (1.5") with the advice that it would do the same. She is only interrested in the small amount of a red turf like algae that is on the rocks. They would not get along would they? Wishfull thinking i'm sure......

    Caulerpa Sertularioides/racemosa eaters for a 26 gallon

I have had this display up and running for about a year now. I am constantly having to prune this stuff. I would like some info from anyone that might give me a suggestion on a creature that would control this in a smaller display. I was reading that a dollabella (sp?) sea hare might be an...

Couple pics of planted mixed 26 @ 1 year

I hear ya rocky. That growth you see is about 1 year. I am constantly pruning, but i really enjoy them in there. I swear caulerpa can match bamboo growth rates. It is some work though..i totally agree. Thanks for the comments.

    In-Sump Skimmer Advice?

Jiddy....just wanted to give you a pic of a rubbermaid sump with an asm g-2 running in it. Its just a bit smaller than the g-3. The sump/refugium in the picture cost a total of less than 20 dollars. Thats the rubbermaid container, and the inserted one to hold the macro algae. It has worked very...

help me out plz. I'm goin' nutz

I have been running two 65watt 03 pc's and one 65 10k over a 26 bow. I just got two 150watt hqi's. I have tried three 20k bulbs now (azoo). I have not had good luck with any of them. One was real yellow (company replaced), one is now pink, and one is pretty blue but is giving a very washed out...

    Phosphate Remover Article

I've been doing alot of reading on other sites lately about rowaphos negatively affecting sps. Causing them to lose color the biggest problem. When these people quit the rowaphos..thier sps colored back up. Some polyp extension issues as well. No actual testing done.....just by observation...
