A 750g SPS system is born

Tacocat: Nope. I am not. I do have an ozonizer, but I think it bit the dust. It is likely in need of a major internal clean, but I have had no desire as of late to take it apart and do what needs to be done. If I was to use it, I would likely just run the air hose to right in front of the air...

600 Gallon Mixed Reef: Looking for input

I am almost 100% sure that 2 iwaki 100 and 2 hammerheads have the same electrical usage or close enough. However, the iwaki 100 has more head as it is a pressure rated pump and also adds more heat to the water at the same time LOL.......

600 Gallon Mixed Reef: Looking for input

Thanks. For some reason I thought this was going to be the tank's stand and not the sump. I figured you were doing it like 3 stories witht he bottom for pumps and such, the second floor for the refugiums and such, and the third floor for the tank. That is why I was wondering where were you...

OK, let's try one more time. I fixed all the link issues, so it should all be working except for contact page's form. Please try them again and tell me if it does or does not work for you. I tried in 3 different browsers and they all worked fine. Thanks for the patience.

600 Gallon Mixed Reef: Looking for input

So, you are making another stand the same as this to sit on top of this one? Then, the pumps and such would sit on the floor and the refugiums and sumps would sit on the floor of the stand that sits above this one? If that is the case and I understood you right, that is a pretty good idea...

How high is the stand? Looks pretty low to me. What are the dimensions again?

Like I said above: "I just checked all the links and pictures and they should all be working. I know the pictures are big in size, but not big in KB. I purposely did it that way becaus eit always irritate me that when I go to see some pictures other people post they are so small you loose allt...

Someone sent me a link to a place running a special, so I signed up for hosting and registered the domain. Then, someone else showed me a place that has templates you can modify to suit your needs. Tis stuff is a heck of a lot more complicated than what they lead you to believe. Especially if...

Maybe if you don't have anything to do sometime in the next few hours you could read trough the 36 pages in this thread and see that just about every point you bring up has been addressed several times over. Thanks for the comments anyway.

A 750g SPS system is born

OK, so after being jelous of people like travis, melev, Steve Weast, and others for having their own website, I broke down and burned a few hours this weekend doing one too. It is pretty simple and it needs lots of work still, but hopefully I'll get it there over time. The contact page does not...

Nick: I don't have the link here, but there are some places online that you can get kits to adapt a gasoline generator to run on propane. Just do a google search. If I find the link I will post it here. Travis: That is not entirely true. They do use less fuel if the load is much less, but in...

The thing is they don't make anything like this for bigger than 3/4". Even then, locline has a monopoly on it.

    Helpfull hints applied

During MACNA this year, I saw David Saxby's (owner of Deltec) talk on a 4000g tank they built for a guy in Chicago. During the talk, he had some video footage of some of the stuff they did on the tank, how they did it, and some tricks associated with it. It was a very helpfull learning...

The amount of phosban I use is ridiculously small for the water volume and I even gone a few months without it to see if it made any difference. I know the Mg is low. I was going to top it off, but with no electricity int he area the stores are closed. The other frustrating element has been...

I need a consult!!! Corals: Well, the last few weeks/months have been very frustrating with the tank. First of, corals have not been growing like they should. Then, they start to RTN lowly for no apparent reason. Over the last few weeks, I have lost 30-0 acros altogether. Not a particular type...

A 750g SPS system is born

Well, we got phone yesterday and today we got power back after 5 days and 10 hours of misery. What an ordeal. Gas lines are getting better, but most gas stations still have pretty big lines. For a while there it would take an entire day (if you are lucky) to get gas. Lost about 10 qcros and I...
