    Regular occurrence with my K1's and K3's. The drive mechanism could be reset on those by sticking a finger in for a second (didn't feel great but it hardly hurt) and it would begin spinning properly again.

    When you say 3" are you talking about the center of the head or from tip to tip with the 'whiskers'. If the latter, pretty normal. If the former.... that is indeed a large duncan!

    Ran a successful mixed reef with HOB skimming and water changes for years in college - I supplemented with a carbon/gfo reactor but that wasn't required.

    Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I would love to swing by the frag swap on Sat - I have tentative plans to hike but if those fall through I'll definitely make an appearance! Does it usually have pretty good turnout? My tank is cycled and open for livestock :)

    New to the Seattle Area

    Hey All, Just moved to Seattle in May from IA and getting back into the hobby with an 18" mixed reef cube. Glad to see there's an active forum with a bunch of PNW reefers!
