    Bristle Worms are Amazing!

If you ever stop by for another frag you can help yourself to all of mine. I do not mind them except when I see them stealing food out of the anemones mouth.

    Temperature contrllers

My ranco is a single controller that is why I was contemplating buying a dual controller to be able to turn on a fan at one temp and the lights at a higher temp.

    Tiny Stars before my eyes

Next time we going crabbing or diving I will send you a message, we run into quite a few sun stars that seem to be everywhere, they can be huge. Do you know they will eat frozen legs or hoping they will? I need to get myself a harlequin shrimp for my asterina stars, do I need a pair or they...

    herlequin and aterina

Anybody used harlequin shrimp to eat asterina starfish? Would like to see coraline on the rocks again. I have a 180 and a healthy population of the starfish.

    Temperature contrllers

I was just looking at buying the dual stage ranco to shut of my MH or turn on a fan if things get hot but decided to buy the digital aquatics recently released reef lite 1 to do it. It is $150 and you can control four outlets(2 are on relays). The temp probe was faulty out of the box but they...

Where do you get frag bags?

I am planning on shipping some frags, but where does one find small frag sized bags? Anybody done this before and have advice to offer?

Live Rock made from concrete moulds?

I have seen folks use rock salt, pasta noodles and even rice crispies to lighten the rock and add texture. Never read anything about trying styrofoam beeds, you might have a problem with the surface beads coming free over time and floating around the tank. Would be interesting to try. One...

    Acrylic question

I built a tank of similar dimensions and and similar results in the seams, no problems. I did add weldon16 to each of the seams since it is not a display tank.

    Pickling lime

I usually cannot find it except during late summer/early fall(canning season). When it does show up I usually buy most of it to last me through the year.

    Melted CA RX medium

Thanks Duane, I will watch it, I am sure it is putting more strain on the pump.

    Melted CA RX medium

I am not asking about how the media was melted, PH went too low for too long. What I want to know is if there is any downside to continuing to use the media in the reactor even though it has become aragonite sand. I am assuming the only downside is reduced flow which equals reduced production...

    Melted CA RX medium

I have a reverse low flow calcium reactor and use ARM media, small 1/8 inch. My reactor PH dropped below 6 and all the media turned into the consistency of sand. The water and co2 are still bubbling through it although not as distributed as before it melted. Is there any reason to dump the...

Ca reactoer GEO818 pump running hot?

Sorry to hear Dang, that was a beautiful coral. Very frustrating that something that was supposed to make life easier did that.

    calc reactor vs. kas drip

Kalk can be simple, I have a 30 gallon tank I use for my topoff which is controlled by float switches. I dump a half cup of kalk in the topoff everytime I fill it. The 30 gallon topoff tank lasts 3-4 weeks in the winter and about two weeks in the summer for my 180. I increase the amount of...

    Fastest in wall ever

just ran into a problem with my tank room. Water is condensing on the underside of my roof in the cold weather. I became aware of the problem as dirty water streaks started showing up on the outside wall, I have bird blocking installed all along the bottom for venting and slatted vent holes in...
