    Kalkwasser...

As I was telling Sherman last night, so far I feel the TLF is far and away the best I have tried. Still no calcium oxide to try. I have a kalk sample from another company on the way too.

    Rescue Fish

well, you probably will never know the "why" unfortunately. I lost a wrasse a few moths back, and although my tank is very deep, something must have spooked it. But then again, they are known to be a bit vertically inquisitive.

YEAH. Kind of not a good idea for a lion to be in that small of a tank, especially when you are trying to keep a reef. It all depends on the other inhabitants and of course, water quality. Lions aren't commonly known for jumping so I would guess something was ticking it off. Even though it is a...

    Rescue Fish

damn fish sticks. they are everywhere. probably the wrong fish for that tank anyway. They need more space to be happy. Glad the clown is doing well.

    Rescue Fish

Tank is OK. Fish are happy, corals seem to like drama, and I am here to enjoy it all! Still dealing with back problems but it seems to be getting better very slowly. I would guess you are still in physical therapy?

hey that is great to hear! :) So the more important questions is, how are you doing?

    Melafix..red bugs

As far as I know, it doesn't kill FW either, but makes them convulse and fall off the coral. I would guess extended exposure may kill them, but I have not experimented with it yet (THANK GOD).

    Me, Myself, & Sherman too.

The worst part of it is the wicked headache I get after laying down on the plank. I am sure that is some sort of latent stroke thing, but it kills. And don't diss my aquascaping dude...you have to have real vision to understand it.

Thanks Dan...I just seem to have these cycles and have not "gratuated" to the next level. Working hard on it of course, but I am suspicious that snail die-offs may be a "normal" cycle in some respect, and at the quantities I have, detrimental to my system. Are you dosing any iodine? DANG: Cool...

    Kalkwasser...

Well, I have had a pH event over the last few days. It dropped so low I thought the probes might have been a problem, or some environmental factor, but when I loaded up some TLF, the problem was resolved. It's kind of scary to think that the Custom Aquatic kalk could be doing fine and then...

    Me, Myself, & Sherman too.

Well, good comment and I (since I didn't sleep last night) have a working theory. First of all, I did add some TLF kalk and the pH has remained up where it should be. Last night it only went down to 7.95 which is right where it would be "normally". Having said that, alk numbers have not been...

    Me, Myself, & Sherman too.

Well, I am back with an issue I guess I need help on. My SPS and zoanthids continue to decline, while the PLS all seem fine. Fish health is excellent. I have moderate algal growth in the system. Water parameters all seem to be normal, but for the last 3 days my pH has been very low, getting down...

Bad City H2O in Kent...any one else?

good discussion guys. keep it going. the more he looks into it, the closer he will get to determining the problem. I would agree that water main flushing could cause some issues, but it sounds like this has developed over time, or am I getting that wrong?

Bad City H2O in Kent...any one else?

that's like having the fox inventory your chickens! around here a basic water lab test is only about $25. the city will only test for what they are mandated for, so take a close look at the results and more importantly what they don't test for. ammonia is a big thing going on lately too.

Bad City H2O in Kent...any one else?

letters to the city don't help. letters to the editor do, and even better, get in their face at a meeting.

holy cow! run-off water? run off of what, the I-5? you need to go to a council meeting and voice your grievance. I would test that water every which way you can and send some to a lab. The lab analysis is usually fairly inexpensive.

BOTS?? Do we have registration numbers? Maybe we could limit users to members only through something like that...or an approval process?
