IR lighting spectrum harmful to coral and fish?

IR will not hurt any fish or corals. Heaters emit IR so does your remote control for your tv and anything else that gets relatively warm. It's the other end that is harmful the uv side.

    Alk dosing

Hunter1975, Baking soda with raise your Alk just fine, it will slightly dip the PH. You need to use a calculator so you know how much to dose to get the level you want. You should not increase the DKH more than 1.4 in 24hours it causes stress to corals and fish. Find out how much water your ato...

    1000 Gallon

Sorry about the ray loss but that will be a drop in the bucket when that Black tip starts to kill. It will kill for fun not food so do not think feeding it more will help. At 4 to 5 years old they reach the point when they start killing. It also might be the because they are at the time when...

I could try placing a tile down there in the hopes that they lay their egg on it. If i did that i would have to raise the fry. It would be cool...

    Lighting Question!!!

Phoenix 14k in my opinion this it the best bulb for anyone running a double ended 250 watt magnetic ballasts and is into SPS corals. As stated be for it is a crisp light blue with the kelvin rating closer to 20k then 14k and the par value close to most 10k lamps. On electronic ballast looks...

    Hanna test results
