    Gbta "doughnut"?

doesn't sound good. i've never seen that exactly, but i have seen them just start disintegrating from the foot. once you've got that kind of damage, it's unlikely to recover. keep your water in great shape, clean, stable, and hope for the best. when it starts to turn to straight mush, get it...

    Hello from Poulsbo, WA.

keeping it very simple. softies, and some easy LPS (hammer, frogspawn). no sps. this system is run by volunteers when i'm not around, so anything more than feeding and water changing is a tough sell. right now i have a couple of leathers, the one shown is donated by iPisces, some xenia, and...

    Hello from Poulsbo, WA.

ahh, and Charlie and Lola. The tropical tank still needs a lot of work, so i'm not willing to show it off. lot's of Diatoms. will have a skimmer running on it this week, and hopefully i can get a hold of some more rock soon.

    Hello from Poulsbo, WA.

yep. that is the same kind. i heard some people talking about it at the center. don't know much about the situation. i guess it is what it is. not all folks will have the same appreciation for creatures of the sea as others do. as long as the animal didn't go to waste i guess it's the same...

    The conch lives.

i had a fish that went missing for 2 years once. a little goby. i found him alive and well when i upgraded from a 120g to a 180g. then, it was over a year before i saw him again. once again an upgrade. i gave him to a friend when i broke the tank down. he has never been seen again. we are...

    Puget Sound Copepods/Amphipods

Another idea on this is doing a plankton tow. We do this at the center to feed our Jelly fish and other filter feeders. I've been checking them out under the microscope and am going to do some comparisons with reef food, like phytofeast and other products. it's a ready source if you have the...

Switching from fish only to seahorse and sponge

i love watching Sea horses. We keep local Pipefish, and they are simply mesmerizing to watch. They dance around each other and swim through the eel grass. You will not be disappointed with the work you put into this. Good luck, jon
