My calcium reactor has developed a leak on one of the seams. Does anyone know a good way to seal up acrylic without having to try to dismantle and reassemble it? The leak is small, but the whole thing is under a fair bit of pressure.
Thanks!
This is the right side. Notice the reflection at the rear right of my galaxy coral around back which I will try to frag since he is too big for a front location.
I want maximum diversity in my tank, so I have a mix of softies, LPS, clams, fish, and a few SPS although at the rate they are growing I will be adding more.
Brass Needle Valve
I am struggling to get a good drip out of my calcium reactor with the IV line hose constrictor I am using (always either too much or it just stops) and I was looking for a little needle valve to give me better control, but all I could find was brass ones. My gut tells me...
So what eats fauna?
Given that stirring up the bed is probably beneficial given that I have a shallow bed, but that I would rather not have things like sand sifters stipping out every worm and critter, or horseshoe crabs bulldozing their way from one end of the tank to the other, what WOULD you...
I have a sand bed that is only about 2" deep and parts of it are constantly stirred up by an active pistol shrimp and a couple of watchman gobies. My question is should I avoid other things that stir up or oxidenate the sand bed like nassarius snails, horseshoe crabs, or sand sifter stars...
Calcium overdosing
My calcium reactor got a bit too ehthusiastic and my CA levels went slightly over 500ppm, at which point all the LPS and SPS corals were seriously stressed--several beyond hope of recovery. If 400-420 is the ideal range, at what point does the CA level start being problematic?
