    Percula Clown Sick?

Great! Thanks for the info. I did get some more water today so I'm set to do a few water changes. Ive already done one with a plan to do a few every other day or so. Ill keep and eye on the clown to see if the color changes, I'm still trying to find the meds. The tank does have a solid lid which...

    Percula Clown Sick?

Steve, Thanks for you time in helping me. That clown does have more of a red "hue" compared to the other one, the other is brighter orange. Is that not normal? Also, is there a place that you recommend getting the Metronidazole and Praziquantel? Do larger pet stores typically carry that kind of...

    Percula Clown Sick?

The clowns have been in QT for 3 weeks and the Jawfish for 2 weeks. All are eating well, but the one clown has been concerning me a little. Were you able to see the whitish area on the scales of the clown in the pics I attached? What should I be looking for with the jawfish?

    Percula Clown Sick?

Steve, My water stats are, Ammonia - 0 Nitrites - .5ppm Nitrates - 40ppm Gravity - 1.024 I am using the Jungle Quick Dip Strips to do my testing. I was just about to do another water change because of the nitrates being high. Can I treat the clowns with the Jawfish remaining in the tank? I...

    Percula Clown Sick?

Ron, So far I haven't treated the fish with anything. I just feed three times a day alternating small amounts of frozen formula 1, mysis shrimp and formula 1 flake. The jawfish cleans up anything the clowns don't eat. I do a water change 1-2 times a week and vacuum out all left over food and poop.

    Percula Clown Sick?

Hello, I have a question about a Percula Clown. The fish is in a QT waiting to be put into my main tank, which is sitting fallow to clear a case of ich?. In the QT I have two Percula Clowns and a Pearly Jawfish. I used LR to start the QT because I didn't have a sponge colonized yet. Its a 10G...

How do I set up a quarantine tank "right"?

I wanted to add that the 75g will be sitting fish-less for at least 30 days to clear out any parasites or diseases. But it would be nice to have a couple fish to watch in the QT.:D

How do I set up a quarantine tank "right"?

Could someone help me with a good way to set up a quarantine tank? I’m new to the saltwater hobby and have a 75g with 65lbs of live rock. It’s about 2.5 months old. I had just added a couple fish in there but unfortunately one of them was sick I guess. I’m worried it was velvet as it...

    Snail Question

Thanks for the help! I havent noticed any "tubes" on the snails shell. It must have been eggs I guess. The strings it released made it all the way around the tank (75g), there were alot! 2' long.

    Snail Question

Krish, It really didn’t look that thick or bubbly. It was just a thin string with what looked like grains of sand stuck to the string every so often. So what was the stuff coming from that snail in the picture you posted?

    Snail Question

    yup that looks like it!

    Snail Question

That’s the right shape, but the shell is fairly smooth. The "web strings" were definitely coming from the snail. I could see them coming out of the shell. This is a fairly new tank, about 2.5 months, so I don’t have any tube worms yet. Thanks, Nathan

    Snail Question

Hello, this is my first post here, but I’ve been reading threads for a while. Nice place you’ve got here! I have a snail, not sure on the kind, but it stays on/in the sand, the shell is thinner and pointy and is black with small white spots all over it. Anyway, the other night I noticed...
