    Camera Suggestions

The best place IMO in Spokane is Huppins. They match any internet price then you get "real" help and somewhere to take stuff back if needed. thats where I would go over any internet site. They do have a website check it out.

    Hydor Flo?

I have one and I love it. It just spins 360 degrees. It doesnt really change the amount of flow out of the nozzle as it spins, but it randomizes the flow in the tank. I hear that the Hydors reduce the powerheads flow a bit, so be careful of taking out to many powerheads.

Morning Guys, I see the conversation is moving right along. I gotta remember this stuff when the time rolls around for me to upgrade. :) Scoot, right now I'm using AutoCAD to model the tank. Its a little cumbersome but it gets the job done. I would like to use sketch-up, just haven't had the...

Copperband Butterflies also are know to eat Aiptasia, but they can be a picky fish and hard to keep alive. At least thats what Ive heard.

    Need some ID Help

Its Aiptasia anemone. Not a good one! You should get rid of it ASAP. They can spread to plague proportions fast! I put 3 peppermint shrimp in my tank and they decimated the few I had. Although I didn't feed the shrimp or tank (no fish at the time) so they were forced to find something. Some...

I see people are not trusting the idea of wood. Steel is going to cost more, cause you a lot more work and you need to be very precise so you get things level and a clean joint. Good luck if you ever need to move or dismantle the stand. I wonder why people don't build structural steel houses if...

Thanks! I'm glad I could hep out. Yeah the pink things are lag bolts, but I drew thru bolts on the top of the posts. If you want it super rigid you could sheath the two sides instead of diagonal bracing. But you may want more open access to the side for plumbing. Two joists with hangers would...

6' 4x4 posts will be no problem, but you'll need bracing, either diagonal braces or clipping off to a stud wall or sheathing wrapping the frame. I would do a combination of clipping to a wall and diagonal bracing between the posts. a little overkill never hurts! Are you going to be building...

Assuming your total is 2,000lbs and a tank size of 4'-0'x4'-0" with the frame sitting on a slab on grade. I talked to one of our structural engineers here, and we both think that you can frame this out of 2x lumber no problem. Just use 2x8s and 3/4" sheathing to frame the "floor" (with one joist...

I don't think you need to go with steel, I'm sure you could get wood to work, glulam joists and posts would most likely work. That way you can get away from CMU walls as well. How big is this tank going to be? How many pounds of live rock?
