    Ugly!!!!!!

    I did have a snail die. I have 1 clown fish, 1 red starfish, 1 sand sifting star, 1 anenome (bubble tip), and a Xenia. The Xenia and bubble tip are both fairly new. 3 weeks. I can't see all my hermit crabs to know if they are all there. It is too cloudy. In the 12 weeks I have lost a total of 2...

    Ugly!!!!!!

    I have been fighting some brown film on my sand the past week and now my water is soooo cloudy and slightly greenish that I can hardly see the powerheads in the back of my tank. I have a 75 gallon with only 40# of live rock and 60# live sand. I tested tonight. ph is 8.4 nitrates 10 ammonia.50...

    I'm dying here!!!!!

    It's not that I am stuck on a HOT skimmer.....but that is really all I can get. I don't have a sump and I would prefer to not have one sitting on the side of my tank. Unless that is what I end up needing. Thanks for the link Angel. I will check it out. Oh, I did email about the Backpack, too...

    Aichy Wah Wah!!!!!!!!!

    OK!!! Here I am graveling once again. I am in my 12th week and my water is ugly. Cloudy and ugly. I have that ugly a!@ brown diatom, too. Why oh Why? I have done soooooo well so far. Is it because I had a snail that died go un noticed for a couple days?????? :evil: I am VERY frusterated.

    Thanks. I Went And Got Some Of The Filters And Put One In Tonight. As I Was Cleaning The Algae Off My Glass And Siphoning My Sand.....i Got The Most Disgusting Smell I Think I Have Ever Encountered.......i Had A Dead...i Mean Reaaaaaaly Dead Snail In My Water.     Oh, yes. Every day I look on Ebay. There are protein skimmers there....I just don't know the diefference. So, I find one and put a note out here in the forum. But so far it hasn't worked for me. :( I'm not giving up though.

    Ok...I am still on the hunt for a protein skimmer. Has anyone out there heard of either the JEBO 180 or the Prizm? I would like to order one asap but I don't know enough about them. I do know that I cannot afford a real spendy one right now. What is the next best thing? :eek:

    Yes, I bought the tank from someone, but it was empty and they had freshwater. My lights are only a month old. I did use tap water for my initial fill up but have since turned to R/O. I don't have a phosphate test myself, but when I took some water into Amazon he said it was good. Turbo snails...
