    Pictures Of Your Best Fish

Had it since early February I think, a bit shy of 6 months now.

    Pictures Of Your Best Fish

Hi Beeba - It's about 3", that's way bigger than life :D Beautiful, wonderful fish. I only have one, I've always heard of them as difficult to keep. A few reef friends have had no luck with them, but with my 58 with only a Midas blenny, couple of masked gobies, and a green clown goby last...

    Pictures Of Your Best Fish

Here's my Sunburst Anthias, star of my tank for the last 6 months :)

A day in the life of a red bug

Glad it went well. Also changes your trading a bit - but then again, once your affected corals take off again ... you won't have any space left :D

    Red Bugs - Inevitable?

Yep, a perfect time to do those sort of things. With all that water changing, a good time to siphon out the sump well, clean the skimmer, clean out the overflows :) Glad to hear folks treatments are going well. Some of my emeralds made it through my treatment, but lost all the bugs - just FYI.

Does everyone live in Seattle ?

Midwest ... Madison, WI. Was just down in Chicago over the weekend [IMAC] - and stopped at ReefDweller to pick up SPS frags. If you haven't been there - you should, he propagates some really nice stuff IMO. Not really a `conventional fish store', but many of the prop places are that way - and...

    Imac

I'll be down for just Saturday. Figure it's worth seeing folks, nevermind maybe find myself a new frag to bring home from there or Reefdweller.

Please post your Salt readings here...

Please do! We skipped on Oceanic as none of us had any that was recently purchased [all about a year old] and given we felt that maybe the others had recently changed forumlations - getting more recent samples was important for our testing IMO. That, plus none of us were interested in using...

I am blamming Oceanic Salt for coral loss.......

Sadly, we didn't run Oceanic, or Seachem [next time :)] ... but a couple locals and I ran tests of IO, RC, and TM Pro Reef a few weeks back - posted here: http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8607#post82281 Seems like a pH spike from Alk ... which also affects the CO2 level in...

Please post your Salt readings here...

A couple weeks back I had some reef-club friends over, and we tested up a couple salts. Two separate batches of each, all bought within last 3 months from different places, three diff test kits on each sample. I've got all the excessive data here...

    How to purchase SPS

Yeah, mariculture/aquaculture is warm-and-fuzzy on the outside - yet in many cases likely exactly what you're talking about :( And likely the same risks [loss, pests, brownout, lack of adaption to aquaria] as `wild'. Very unlike hobbyist-frags, which at least have proven to survive/thrive in...

    How to purchase SPS

Couldn't agree more with this last point, but about the first ... Great thread Brad! I love frags. I treat with interceptor and inspect for other pests as a matter of course. But this is my first Acropora, mailordered from a reefer I heard of through online friends [some of who new him...

You must not have met many of us, have you? :p

    Being Conscientious

There's something to it about realizing what is your desire, and what is likely best. And that often the two do not ride together. IMO, it's not what you can afford. You can buy just about anything on this planet - having the money is not a justification IMO. Heck, you used to be able to buy...

    Red Bugs - Inevitable?

I've been wondering about how resistance would/would-not develop with Interceptor ... thanks. Silly red bugs, don't they know resistance is futile? ;)

    Red Bugs - Inevitable?

That's an interesting question IMO .... as personally I wonder if they could become less susceptible to Interceptor - could single treatments allow a few resistant red bugs to live through it? Maybe I'm missing something ... but that seems kinda scary possibility to me.

When did hearsay become proven science??

Ah, the reason I IMO. Sometimes people mistake me for someone with far more experience than I do. A million posts on RC does not make a wise man, or huge posts on any board. Just one who talks a lot, maybe rambles too ;) But good lord, don't think I actually know something, other than what I...

When did hearsay become proven science??

This is the most problematic problem, IMO. All these experts - and a very very few of them I've ever seen a tank from. Claims about how to care for my tank - yet you can tell me what substrate, that I don't feed enough, etc etc etc ... but the proof is in the pudding. I've never seen a pic of...

    Anyone keeping Blue ridge??

Nice larger piece Kevin ... recently got a frag of this myself too - acts quite a bit like Mojo's. It's great to see how nice it will be given grow-out :)
