Setting up my calcium reactor and I have a question

Well, its up and running and cycling like it should. Should I be able to test the alk and calcium levels coming from the affluent or would that be way to high? I have about a bubble a second and maybe 40 to 60ml a minute flowing for now. I have to go look but I think to lower alk its increase...

Setting up my calcium reactor and I have a question

I've been kicking this around all night and I was thinking if I let it go through the last set of baffles before the sump that this off gas would work. But if I move it back to the skimmer stage that would give it more time to get rid of the leftover co2 by the macros like you said. Thanks this...

Setting up my calcium reactor and I have a question

Hello all, I finally have all the pieces to put my calcium reactor together and I have a question. Do I need an effluent box or can I drip this directly into a baffle in my sump? My calcium reactor has a built in port for the ph probe so I will be using that.

    5 lb co2 tank question

I have already looked into this at our local welding supply shop and he told me it would cost me $80 to rent for the year plus the cost of gas or I could buy a steel tank for $150 plus the the cost of gas... . I figure it would be less costly this way.

All of what you said returnofsid, mostly the colors that are closer to light seem to be washed out... but a pink birdsnest that I have which is about 14 inches from the light looks fantastic. All of the lower corals look great but the ones closer look washed out.

    RO membrane replacment

Afternoon all, I was wondering how often do you replace your RO membranes? Im fortunate enough to have good "city" water and my incoming TDS is only 65 to 68. I have had the unit for two and a half years and I have replaced the three main filters but I have not touched the membrane. My TDS is...

    Bubble Trap Height

I dont think that will work... Mine starts with a 12" baffle then another at 12" with 1" teeth to hold back snails and macro algae then the bubble trap 1" off the bottom then the last baffle at 10".Think of it as it basically runs downhill.

    Fair assumption?

Everything is beautiful and thriving, but the top of the rock looks out of place with the rest of the tank.

    Fair assumption?

No not on the corals just on top of the exposed rock. If the rock is shaded at all coralline grows well but not where it gets the most light.
