    How is the All-Glass Aquarium Model 3 MegaFlow Sump Filter?

    Yeah, that's what I thought, people have been telling me to build a sump or get one built....... just wanted some more thought on the matter. Could I use LR rubble in place of the bioballs? Throw a light on top with some chaeto? That's what I was thinking I would do if I did get it.

    FYI, sundial snails are not always the prettier banded kind, mine was a solid mud brown color, but had the same type of shell with the strange little conical trapdoor, and he loved my zoos just the same! Notice the conical trapdoor in the second photo (sorry for the fuzziness)

    My tank is new, about 2 and a half months. Yes, I did experience some fluctuations in pH recently as I was trying to get the hang of a kalk drip, and my pH was high, but then dropped over about a week to a more normal (8.2) reading.     Sorry about the actinics on, but I am trying to reduce some algae growth and they're all on timers, etc...... don't know if these will help any more or not. He does sort of look like a blue devil, but he is a solid purple. He is territorial like a damsel. I've never seen a purple one though...

    High Calcium ?

    Salinity is 1.025, alkalinity I think was 300 ppm. I use Instant Ocean for salt and RO water. I was having low pH problems before and unstable alkalinity, so people told me I should use kalk, but it seems like I've just got a new set of problems now........
