False Percula female attacking Blue Chromis

Nikki, Great article. Thanks very much. Seems to have the entire subject of water quality covered. I especially appreciated the fact that monitoring Nitrites in an established tank is probably a waste... One question remains. How fast I.E. should I raise SG over time. Should I raise the...

False Percula female attacking Blue Chromis

Hi all, Thanks for the comments and the feedback. The three were already tankmates at the LFS and so we kept them together. The famale was/is already mated with one of the males and the second male gets along just fine (so far) even seems to get along with the Chromies' In fact last night much...

Need home for corals and fish for 1-2 weeks in August - Seattle, WA area

Amy, A couple of ideas for you to consider. If the tank is NOT in the way of the floor refinishing? then you **Could** have a tent of poly film built around it on a cheap wood frame or even use PVC pipe to build something. Then, just buy a cheap fan and some large flex ducting and route fresh...

Some of my first fish pictures. False percula Clownfish with their host

The Clownfish were added after the green Chromis. The female was very aggressive against the dominant Chromis and took a 'chunk' out of him. I put the wounded Chromis in isolation but sadly he didn't make it.

My First Tank: 200 gal with 100 gal custom sump. In wall

The tank is installed through a wall into the garage. This is my first marine tank. I have kept fresh water tanks many years ago. I will be adding more pictures as time permits and I edit them down to the correct size.

Steve, thanks for the reply The Anemones (2) which split from one, is Entacmaea Quadricolor (pink with green iridescent zooxanthellae. They have been moving around seeking there preference in my tank. Very interesting to see them move. One even flew about on the current in the tank with the...

False Percula female attacking Blue Chromis

I am new to the hobby and this question has probably been asked and answered before, but I just added three False Percula to a healthy group of seven Green Chromis (first fish group to populate tank). I also added two Anemones at the same time. The female Percula has been chasing the Chromis...
